Aqua on The Infinity?

I searched but couldn't find any answers...

 

We are considering sailing from VCE to BCN on the Infinity for our 25th Anniversary (Aug 23rd and then doing a B2B of sorts on the NCL Epic on Aug 30th). I see a lot of posts on Aqua on the Edge but not on many other ships. Is it worth doing on the Infinity? Is it similar to NCL's Haven? We usually get the Thermal Spa on NCL and it looks like Celebrity's version is included. For those who have done both are they similar? Any other major differences between Celebrity and NCL? We are non-smokers and wine snobs if that makes a difference 🙂 .

The main benefit of Aqua class is your own separate restaurant, Blu. It is smaller and food is more cooked to order. It is your assigned restaurant in Aqua, not the MDR. Most people book for Blu not the spa benefits especially on the M class ships.

Since you are non-smokers you would enjoy Celebrity's smoking policy -- no interior smoking venues, no smoking on stateroom balconies and limited exterior venues.  Even the casinos are non-smoking.

Are the rooms exactly the same? It is about an $800 price difference from Balcony to Aqua which seems a little high just for a restaurant. We could eat at specialty restaurants every night for about the same price.

While the rooms appear to be the same both Concierge and AQ rooms are 21 Sq Ft  larger and the balcony is also slightly larger.

That is something to look forward to...especially the Casino 🙂 

I love Aqua but would not upgrade for that price. Many on this board do exactly what you said, go to Specialties.

I'm not sure if I would be happy eating at Tuscan, Le Petite Chef and Sushi on 5 for the entire cruise.  I'm sure others feel differently.    Another option would be book now in the Veranda and watch prices and upgrade after final payment when rates generally drop.

Agree, I call Sushi on Five, Bait on Five and its always good to be proactive with prices. We were last on Summit and really think Celebrity made a big mistake pulling Murano out of M class ships.

Normandie, patterned after the French liner that burned and sank in New York Harbor, even had some artifacts from the ship.

While the heated, tile loungers on S class ships have a beautiful picture window, the M class ships are a closed room, much less enjoyable. I agree Blu is the primary upgrade and $800 is more than I’d pay.

We were in Aqua on Constellation many years ago.  Same layout as Infinity.  I actually like the thermal area better on M class (Constellation) than S.  Aside from the beautiful views on the S class, there's really nothing too special about the PG.  IN fact, it was my biggest disappointment when we were on Silhouette in November.  The steam room was nice but the loungers weren't very warm and the aroma therapy room was not working.  On the M class there were several rooms you could sit in like the sauna, steam room, salt room/aroma therapy and there is a heated stone bench in lieu of loungers.  I really liked the area despite the darkness but it is nothing like NCL's thermal suite...there is simply no comparison.  If you go with Aqua, do so for the restaurant and slightly larger stateroom.

After all these years we have never visited the Thermal Lounge on any ship.    We will be in Aqua on our next couple cruises so plan on trying them out.   Our first cruises are on Equinox and the next on Millennium so will be able to compare.

Hi Jim   enjoy reading your detailed reviews. Did our first ever cruise on the Reflection last month ( aqua class) loved the Persian gardens. Have just booked our 2nd cruise on the Millenium for Feb 22 ( also aqua) so look forward to reading your detailed review and seeing pics... including Persian gardens!

We did aqua on Millenium last year in July. We loved using the thermal suite to warm up on chilly days.
