Did I believe her reason for no mask - NO I think that the government should have provided an official exemption card to those folks with real and genuine health reasons for not wearing a mask, via GPS who would have health records. It would help the genuine to avoid abuse and stop abuse of the system by those with no reason who just use it as an excuse. Same with the idiots attending raves, big parties etc. Fine them all (or spray them all with a dye so they are shamed - yes I am perhaps getting a bit right of Genghis Khan now 😈)

kalos Posted September 1, 2020 #4613 Share Posted September 1, 2020 Sometimes I read some of these polls and even if they are off a dot Gov site, I still take them half hearted. This is where it gets more difficult when I read an American based poll telling us how we are thinking in the UK and other parts of the world as well. I'm not saying the poll is wrong or right but where do they get this information from for all of these countries ? Has anyone who posts on here been contacted by Pew research centre or any other come to that ,where you think "Oh yes I took part in that " The only places that ask my opinion are the electrical stores wanting me to do a online survey on how good is my new toaster ? They never ask me am I happy with how I'm coping with the covid living in the UK . Nope they are more interested in how happy my new toaster makes me feel and mark it out of 10 stars ! I think they were happy with my response .." Sometimes life is really bad and I drag my sorry butt out of bed ,with a heavy sigh make my way downstairs , put the kettle on and then I spot my toaster and think - life's not so bad at least I own this amazing toaster -That can make toast --aint life brill." Anyone else like polls as well ? 2

I first make a cooked pastry case in a 9 1/2'' loose bottom flan or quiche tin. Filling, 3/4 pt milk 4 1/2 oz creamed coconut 3 egg yolks 4 1/2 oz caster sugar 1 3/4 oz plain flour 1 oz desicated coconut 1oz candied chopped pineapple 2 tbsp pineapple juice, rum or Malibu 1/2 pt whipping cream Bring the milk and creamed coconut to just below boiling point, stirring to melt the coconut. Whisk the yolks and sugar in a bowl until pale and fluffy then whisk in the flour. Carefully pour the milk mixture over the yolks stirring all the time. Pour back into the pan and stir over a gentle heat until thick. Leave to cool but not set. Stir in the coconut, pineapple and juice or rum. Spread into the flan case, cover with the whipped cream and decorate with any remaining pineapple. Chill in the fridge, and if you're brave enough to take it out of the flan tin😉, serve on a nice plate. Be warned, it's very moreish. Anyone else like polls as well ? I take your point entirely about little known polling organisations, or biased organisations with independent sounding names that are actually fronts for a particular viewpoint. Pew Research Center, though, appears to be entirely reputable and comes out well when you dig around a little. It's very well known in America - probably the equivalent of our YouGov. The chart in question was published by the Spectator, so I doubt there's any bias against a Conservative government!

Still waiting for the specialists Graham but I don't mind as I feel OK most of the time .End of this month it will be a year ago they discovered the fault. I think I said the last scan I had showed my heart output had raised from 20% back up to 49% with the cocktail of tablets I now take . They say I never had a heart attack but had heart failure which came as a shock to me as I had no symptoms you would expect. Same as you I eat chicken , turkey and fish and avoid processed foods ,no alcohol or fizzy drinks . I love my salads and Mrs Kalos homemade meals . I was never really overweight and cholesterol levels were always good ,so on my next check up hopefully I have stayed stable in my condition . If the level of non-compliance is that bad, you would expect the number of CV19 cases to be dramatically increasing, but thus is palpably not the case. More people are dying from standard flu than CV19 at present! Yes, I wear a mask, but I'm certainly not going to worry unduly if someone walks past me in Aldi without one.
