brian1 Posted February 3 #55001 Share Posted February 3 Took the tube into town to see the revamped Battersea power station.Impressive building full of trendy bars, restaurants and upmarket shops. Not a place I would eat and drink, bit like a mall food court with no outlook.Got a bus to Langans Brasserie for lunch.Well sort of,M&S food opposite, lol.

I have booked a lovely cottage for us with views over Shibden Park in Halifax. The photos do not do it justice, it is really nice. Taking the grandchildren out tonight to a Turkish/Greek restaurant that they love so fingers crossed for a nice meal tonight. Take care everyone Michelle Happy 1st birthday to your lovely granddaughter tomorrow Michelle. Peace hall at Halifax is well worth a visit if you have the time. There are lots of lovey individual shops there too Michelle

On the liver and bacon theme, here's mine from last night's Ventura MDR menu. The taste was good but don't think I would have put gravy on the bacon 🤔. The potato part was allegedly colcanon but you needed magnifying glass to find any cabbage or anything other than potato!

I have found that 5 lbs might go on during a 1 week cruise and it will then take me 5 or 6 weeks to take it off!

We rarely drink alcohol at home and the bottle of white wine and bottle of Sparkling water in the speciality restaurant every night is a big factor in my weight gain during a cruise.

We’ve since booked a Christmas markets cruise on MSC, another Iona cruise later this year, and Britannia next year in a suite so we’re well and truly back in the swing of things 😂 4

Well done Graham I don’t weigh myself but, judging by my waistband, any cruise-related gain in bulk has now gone Back to normal eating, no drinking (dry February, as an antidote to the free drinks package!) and lots of healthy walking with this one F106AADF-CD78-4CE0-B66D-87DCAC6154FD.MOV 3

Before my heart attack 4 years ago I was in the gym most cruise days lifting weights and still put on average around 7lbs. I have always lost the cruise weight quickly by not drinking alcohol once we are back at home. I just need to figure a way to lose at least 2 stones in weight from my regular weight.🤔🥴

Here is a few balcony photos from our Iona cruise 13-27 January which made us very happy. Hi Graham lovely photos, can I ask what deck you’re on ? We prefer deck 14 aft cabins but they were all booked so our next Iona cruise we have deck 10 aft which I hope is not too noisy for us, love your by the sea photos also.
