When NCL cruises again- ? Ships/Embark Ports?

....And I know will some say NCL may not cruise again but I would like to hope so.  Please humor me🤞

 

Would NCL start up ALL ships/embarkation ports as previously scheduled?

Will they reduce cruises from specific ports?

Will they only start with a partial fleet?   Which ships?

it depends on which ports re-open. Canada seems to be locked down until june or so

It will be up to the states or feds to open cruise ports , not the lines. It would certainly be on adjusted schedules and itineraries based on the above.

Only a guess here. Even if NCL is able to resume sailing in May my gut tells me areas hit the hardest like NYC could see a further delay . I'm thinking August or September.

I think you are right.  
I also think they won't be sending as many ships toward Seattle with the high numbers in Washington state in addition to Canada wanting to keep their ports closed.

 

Maybe they will start with a couple of ships out of Florida ports.    The Bahamas and Caribbean islands have a greater financial need  than Canada to re-open for cruises.

Especially at first, you're likely to see increased sea days, when cruises are allowed to sail, but not all ports are open.

TBH though, I can think of worse ways to spend a week than a few days of sailing in warm waters with drinks in hand.

I could see NCL to dismiss many of their crew shortly. 

 

I would then see NCL doing a slow start with a few small ships. Pulling crew from across the fleet to staff their re-start cruises. 

 

We'll be into hurricane season by the time they resume cruising, so the options may be limited. 

 

Even a few short "party cruises" to Key West, GSC, and Nassau would give them something to start with. Or even some like the current short Breakaway cruises that call at GSC twice with Nassau in between.

I would think that, if they were limited by logistics to slowly ramp back up, that the cruises with fuller ships and the most profitable will be put on line first. That is, providing the itinerary ports are all open.

Getting a full crew could be a problem .

I like your guess best :). We are on the Gem in June Boston/Bermuda. Would go if safe to do so even with less crew.

Good points.   Are the newer ships with more passengers more profitable to run?  I know they have bigger casinos🤔

I would think they would try to entice the reservations off of the less profitable ships to move to the others.

 

Speaking of enticements....they continue to offer the OBC in addition to the other promos.
