My doc was recently pressuring me to get the 2nd booster, and I reminded him that I'd just had Covid. He dismissed that entirely.

Most state Departments of Health and the CDC want us to do exactly that.

How about a little food porn from Mother’s Day.

Why not start out with some home made strawberry pie.

Ok, this carrot cake was bought, but the bakery makes them oh so good.  My grandson, who said he didn’t think he would like carrot cake, had two pieces.

A platter of filet mignon.

And a platter of baby back ribs.  Everyone can add their own sauce flavor.

My favorite sauce is Wango Tango.

And on another note, they showed up to start up our bath remodel this morning.  Perfect timing, because my wife is away for a few days.  I told her to not bring any COVID home, since we test on Thursday.

Good afternoon.

It is currently 60°F cloudy and breezy.

Having an easy day today and tomorrow I have to go to the hospital for x-rays on both of my painful Knees.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Hopefully the x-rays find an easy cure for the pain.    Take care😍

Sorry, we only went on the Summit once before!

😁That's okay! 😁  It's not always easy remembering which ships we've been on, and how many times!  I do have a list of all of our cruises, with the year that we've done them.  We've only cruised 19 times so far, with 3 more booked.  We've never been on the Summit, but was on the Millenium years ago.  We've been on the Equinox twice, and Silhouette 3 times.

It is just such an unusual concept for us. I mentioned it to Bill about whether we have anything that is similar. He said, <jk> We could go to the casino and see the indigenous people? :classic_biggrin: That would be truly different to have large communities with such a different lifestyle and way of life.

The Amish are also known to be very good craftsman.    They make and sell beautiful furniture as well as homes.     Someone around the block from me had a huge tree fall on their roof and demolish their house during Hurricane Sandy.     They hired Amish to rebuild.    Stunning home and I hear the craftsmanship and detail inside is gorgeous.    Took much longer to rebuild than a standard builder but they ended up with a home built far better than anyone else in the area.

Our oldest daughter spent her Mother's Day in bed with Covid.  She feels miserable, like she has the Flu.  So weird how everyone is effected differently, even though all had their shots and booster!🙅‍♀️

Ahh, sorry to hear this.    It seems like more and more people are experiencing more symptoms in the last couple of weeks than earlier this year.    I guess we will all get it at same time or another.    I hope your Daughter feels better soon.

I may have mentioned it before, but two of our bedroom sets were made by the Amish.  Hand made to our specifications, and quality much better than you find in furniture stores.

They were also surprisingly affordable.

My California grandson’s school had 5 Covid cases last week, so they have masks recommended, but not required.

Our school here has a few cases, after going a couple months with none.  My daughter has started wearing a mask again in her classroom now.

Cases are definitely on the rise in schools near me too.    My girlfriend told me her elementary school had 56 reported cases for students and several teachers as of Friday.   She was told the majority of the children had the sniffles.    Masks are recommended but not required.   It has been that way since the restart of school last year.

We booked an old friend from 2018...Celebrity Summit. Went on her twice just before she was remodeled and got her "mani-pedi"!

We have been on the Summit several times, but our favorite Celebrity ship is the Silhouette.

I've been on 23 cruises, including the Millennium. In terms of layout, it was one of my favorites.

This morning was very windy and chilly but the wind has slowed down and temp is now 62 with bright sunshine.

Yesterday was too chilly for us to do our tradition of buy / plant flowers around the house with my Son Chris.     So instead I received a gift card for Ross and Chris and Donna wanted to learn how to make Meatloaf and scalloped potatoes.    One of his Chris's favorite dishes but he said every time they make themselves it is gross.     So I was able to sit back with a glass of wine and walk them thru my families recipe as they got their hands dirty.     We had a lot of laughs.    Donna was terrified of the mandoline for slicing the potatoes but she did good all fingers still attached.

We cannot believe how much our grass has grown in the last week.    Definitely will have to mow tomorrow.

I am sure they are beautiful pieces of furniture.     My parents had some outdoor furniture for probably more than 30 +/- years that was handmade by the Amish.   If you had bought that same set at garden center it would have probably fallen apart/rotted in 10-years.

My oldest daughter is also a teacher.  I guess she could've gotten Covid from one of her students...of course, it could've been from anywhere🙅‍♀️

Thank you, Debbie.  I had just talked to her.  She sounds terrible and said she still feels horrible, but not as badly as she felt yesterday.

Both of my daughters are teachers and there are many kids and school personnel in the schools who have Covid currently.

It sounds like such a wonderful Mother's Day for you.  What an honor that Chris and Donna wanted to learn exactly how to make a much-loved recipe from you, and you got to relax while they prepared the meal.   What a great relationship you have with your soon-to-be new daughter-in-law, and she is lucky to be getting a loving and happy mother-in-law!  When is the "Big Day"?

It looks like I'll be mowing tomorrow also, if in fact, we do have a nice day here tomorrow!  Still cold and breezy here today, and yes, the lawn has certainly grown around here also this past week.

Years ago, the Amish used to come around our neighborhood with a truck loaded with Adirondack chairs for sale when we lived on S.I.
