kdavis7689 Posted April 22, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2020 Hello all, So ive cruised quite a bit in my life (12 cruises under my belt) but this will be the first time I have ever cruised out of Baltimore, MD. Im torn between two Carnival cruises: 1. A 7 day cruise, going to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, and Freeport + 3 fun days at sea OR 2. A 7 day cruise, going to Bermuda for 3 full days + 3 fun days at sea. I have been to Freeport, Grand Turk, and Half Moon Cay (my wife whom I am bringing hasn't been to any of them)and I personally loved all of them so I dont mind doing them again with different shore excursions. As for Bermuda, the wife and I haven't been there either. My only fear about Bermuda is that Id get bored being in the same place for 3 days, or is it that nice that its worth being there for 3 days?. Has anyone been to all these places? what would you recommend? Thoughts and comments are welcome, Thanks!
janetz Posted April 22, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2020 (edited) Bermuda is beautiful! So much to see and do on your own without pricey ship excursions. We have been 3 times via cruise ship. I would avoid the summer months, to hot Fall until the last week of October is beautiful. As is the end of May, 1st week of June Check out the Bermuda forum for great info 😊 Edited April 22, 2020 by janetz
TNcruising02 Posted April 22, 2020 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2020 I've been to all of those places and I would choose the cruise to Bermuda. I think there is enough to do that you wouldn't be bored.

Thank you for your first new thread on the First Time Cruisers forum. 👍 However to help you out I have moved your thread to the Carnival Cruise Lines forum. It is a more correct forum for your inquiry about picking a Carnival cruise and where it will be more on-topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed Carnival frequent the forum and provide feedback there. Please browse through the thread titles on the forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you. Since you are sailing from Baltimore, be sure to research our North American Homeports - East Coast Departures forum. That is where you will find hotel, transportation, dining & embarkation information. As for the Ports of Call, I suggest you research the following forums: Carnival Corp.'s Grand Turk & Half Moon Cay will be in our Private Islands forum Freeport will be in our Bahamas forum And then my personal favorite Bermuda is in our Bermuda forum Once you make your decision and book your cruise, please note the Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date will be the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you BEFORE the cruise. Your fellow Roll Call members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread, especially ones that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, the Roll Call thread for your cruise is the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where you and your fellow Roll Call members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions, transportation etc. with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" since you are all sailing together! You will receive a much better response to your share request if you take some time to read the entire Roll Call thread, post an introductory post about yourself, and continue on with more posts to get to know the other members and allow them to get to know YOU first before you post your share request. That is the spirit of our Roll Calls. To explain our Roll Calls and finding the Roll Call thread for your cruise, please read What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines. Cruise Critic is a great resource for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you found us! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community Categories list. Read a few threads in the forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads on the top of the first page of threads in a forum. You will find very important instructions or information there. Please remember the following stated in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Browse Before You Post Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else. Also, many of the major cruise lines forums have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) topic that has been created by our members. Give that a try first. Browsing is your #1 best resource! Please post your messages in an appropriate topic so that you'll receive the best possible response. It is very time consuming to move misplaced messages that are in the wrong topics. Anytime you need to start a new thread/topic on a forum, first make sure you are in the correct forum for your topic. Word your new thread title in a way to help the members know exactly the information you seek. This greatly helps the members browsing through the thread titles and if they know the information they will reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, one ship, one port of call, etc. and of course, on the correct forum. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship, port or sail date in your inquiry as that sort of information will help the members have the information they need in order to reply back to you. I sincerely hope all this information will be helpful! So sorry this is such a long post, but we are so glad to have you aboard the Cruise Critic message board and just wanted to give you some of the highlights about being a member. I would choose the Bermuda itinerary, but my reasons are; I've done the Eastern Caribbean Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Freeport itinerary out of Baltimore twice and we're booked on the Bermuda itinerary this September. If not for having done the Eastern Caribbean option I would choose it. I have sailed to Bermuda from Charleston SC and there's plenty to do. Both options are better than the Nassau, Freeport, Cape Canaveral itinerary which I have not and don't plan to do.

Joebucks Posted May 2, 2020 #17 Share Posted May 2, 2020 Either would be fun. However, I'm in the same boat of having been to the first itinerary before, and not Bermuda. With that said, I would pick Bermuda. 3 days seems like a lot because we aren't use to that with cruises. However, if you were to go there by land, you would probably be there for what, 4-7 full days? I don't think it's a lot at all. It will help you get a good taste of Bermuda! I have included links to our photo reviews from both. Carnival Pride to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, & Freeport Carnival Pride to Bermuda For us Bermuda would be our number 1 choice. kdavis7689 Posted May 4, 2020 Author #21 Share Posted May 4, 2020 Thank you all for your responses, its pretty clear which one to take now. Bermuda it is! The other option seems great as well but cruises out of Florida go to those 3 spots constantly compared to Bermuda where fewer cruises go there so I do not want to pass up the opportunity. Thanks all for the help, hope you all enjoy your future cruises! Stay safe and healthy!
