Carnival wouldn't even let them in. I also think there was another cruise line that refused them entry, but not for sure. There were some threads about this a while back.

But Carnival NEVER enforces it's rules. Yes, it's been floating around the boards for at least a decade now I think. Wonder if she could still pull it off?

I think that's awesome!!! Would definitely invite her to my MDR table.

But would you take her home to mom in that outfit? 😂  I read they were a very nice and polite couple.

I guess it's the first time for even Carnival.

Well, since my mom has passed there's not much chance of that happening (of course there are many other reasons why I won't be taking her anywhere...LOL).

I usually don't do formal night but instead eat at Windjammer. That being said, one of my favorite things to do on a cruise is to take a seat at Cafe Promenade and people watch. I love seeing all the sparkly dresses!

Same here!  All the social functions at home have been cancelled; we've worn nothing but casual all these months.  We can't wait to really get dressed up again.

I'm about ready to put on a tie when I go the grocery store.

Why? It was posted as a joke. Did it offend anyone?

It is not political, abusive, bad language,  etc.

Can't believe it caused you so much grief.

K, I really thought you meant it the wrong way. That is the problem with this type of communication.

It can be interpreted many different ways.

Thanks for clearing it up. Friends forever!

Stay Safe!

Last cruise on Symphony we had 3 formal nights. Left my suit and tie a home. Wore black dress shoes, cuffed dress pants and one of my best Tommy Bahamas dress shirts. I looked into the mirror and saw my cruising  future.. Wife didn't totally approve but she will come around..
