Key West that is requiring masks until June 2021?

I did not know that, and with everything else down there probably not at this point. Our problem is that my husband can't change his vacation week again so we will need to do something the same week that we already scheduled. I also have another staycation scheduled for July so I am looking for somewhere fun to go that does not include Pennsylvania when we do travel.

There are now 3 Fla. cities where masks are mandatory in public ( Orlando, Tampa and Key West).

Orlando can be a $500.00 fine.

I'm starting to be concerned about our October trip to Tampa area (St. Petersburg/Clearwater) that was postponed from April. Hopeing we have a small window before the next projected round hits.

Yikes! Thanks for the info! Hopefully by October you will be able to travel down there. Fingers crossed!

Thank you cynt for starting this topic!  We've discussed this in the event our cruise gets cancelled. It's out of Galveston on the Dream. Sooooo if it does:

1. We're going down to Galveston anyway since it's on the 'ocean', and lots and lots of things to see and do.

2. Going to Colorado; Manitou Springs. Spent many summers there as a kid with my folks. It's beautiful up there.

3. New Orleans. We drove there 3 summers in a row to explore, as both of us are history buffs. Love it. The atmosphere, the history(drove the river road, both ways from NOLA to Baton Rouge and back. Saw every plantation mansion along the route. We both want to go back.

4. Red River,  New Mexico. It's in the mountains too. Absolutely beautiful. My mom wanted to retire there. We've been there skiing during the ski season. Would go back there in a blink of an eye.

Where ever we decide to go, we will be driving, like O.C. To much stuff to see and do as the miles slide by driving.

From New Mexico.  Will be at Red River in July for our annual trip.  Been going there for about 20 years.

I envy you. You are fortunate to have an annual trip up there.  We drove from Santa Fe, through Taos to Red River. The mountain drive is truly inspiring.

Thanks for the heads up. That may affect my Key Largo plans in August (looked it up, same rule for all of the Keys). I may have to consider a day trip from another Florida beach town to go diving. Could be something doable in the Caribbean by that time though.

St. pete is also requiring masks.

Yikes, looks like I won't be heading back to Pass-a-Grill this summer/fall! I guess no visit to my home town for awhile. 😞

We wanted to go on a mini vacation, but still wanted to avoid the crowds. So we found this beautiful resort just 2 hours away from home. While everybody headed to the beach, we instead decided to book a dirt cheap stay here and had the place all to ourselves.

Well, since now it is now semi-official, kind of, the cancelling of our Sept.13, 7 day Freedom cruise seems to be all but a foregone conclusion. So the wife and I had a pow wow(that's lasted on and off most of the day), and we've decided on a preliminary alternative to our cruise....kind of. We've narrowed it down to 3 places, all within driving distance from us.

1. Bossier City/ Shreveport, La. Stay at a casino hotel and do a little gambling, lots of sightseeing.

2. Galveston, my favorite place to go in Texas. Very historic and the Gulf. Tons of great restaurants, the Strand.

3. Corpus Christi/Padre Island(actually Mustang Island); some great seafood places, lots of sightseeing to see, and of course the Gulf.

It’s the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf & Spa Resort just outside Birmingham, AL. We live in the Atlanta area so it’s an easy drive for us.

When we checked in on a Wednesday, it was eerily empty, which may explain why we got such a low rate. But it was perfect for our needs. We got to enjoy a resort style mini vacation while still maintaining social separation.

We're staying in Alaska for now.  It's too risky to go to the Lower 48 anytime soon.  We are having record, surging cases in our state, so basically we're just staying home most of the time.  A few weeks ago we did a day trip into Denali National Park, and if the virus slows down by the end of July, we're going to spend a couple of days in Valdez.  The waterfalls are gorgeous and there are day trips out to the Columbia Glacier.

Khewston, that is awesome!  What a wonderful way to travel!

Thanks!  We have been camping for about 20 years and this is our 4th and last RV.  Spending time on cape cod and Myrtle Beach this summer.  Next year will be Destin, Florida!
