Everything... project Leonardo/Prima class!

LOL - this is one of my all time favorite gifs.

PS - any announcement for District Brewhouse yet? That has become one of my favorite venues. Between having the DBH and HATM on the Escape (as well as ropes course, H20, amazing thermal suite, and the list goes on), Escape has been bumped up to my favorite NCL ship. Since HATM isn't on any of the newer ships, I'd be happy with DBH since they (usually) have a piano player/singer with crowd participation. It's one of my favorite things to do on a cruise - sit, drink, laugh, sing along, etc...

Wow, I went on a tangent. Summary: any news on DBH? LOL

No, no further restaurant announcements.

The only named restaurant that I see on 'that plan' is Fat Tuesday in the location that is The Local on the official deck plans.

Maybe I’m wrong then. I thought it was somewhere that was mentioned re that video, but it isn’t a venue that interests me, so I probably wasn’t really paying attention.

We had that Prima virtual cruise night with NCL tonight. It was more of a sales pitch than anything else. He did say that they ( NCL ) are still going over the deck plans, restaurant's like Cagney's and Le Bistro will find a place aboard the ship, there will be some type of observation area forward and that two MDR's are planned. No mention about a separate buffet. The theater will convert to a Vegas style night club, game shows like the Whammy and the Price is Right will be played during the day. The Vibe beach club looks amazing. NCL is planning an announcement in January about the Prima and the next the Leo, didn't go into great details. Merry Christmas and happy holidays

I was afraid that was all it would be. The TA's get the same videos we do when there is a big roll-out....and nothing big has come put since 2 months ago. But I hope you had fun and it was worth your time.

I was surprised that they open up the meeting for questions about the Prima, I jumped right in .. NCL will not repeat it's mistake with the observation lounge that can be found on the Bliss, Encore and others. They don't need the area to become a second cabin for some folks. We all heard the stories about some folks camping all day, everyday in the observation area. I'm suspecting that they may return the area to a Spinnaker lounge, will more seating around the windows.

I have lots of difficulties to believe them when they say they are still going over the deck plans.  The ship must be completed in about 6 months.  The shipyard has already planned all the work and the delivery of equipment and furniture must be already scheduled. You don't decide to add a venue such as the Garden Cafe with the required kitchen, counters tables and chairs few months prior to completion.  I am conviced that most details for each restaurant and bar were finalized before they started to build the blocks.  I would be surprised if they would still be able to make changes to the Leonardo 2 as the blocks have already started to be assembled. They are hiding the thruth for marketing reasons.  Most sailings for the Prima's first year are or close to be sold out.  They did not need to say more to sell those cruises.  Now they will introduce the Leonardo 2 (the Bella???  ) this winter.  As we believe that the Leo 2 will be rather similar to the Prima,  (Similar to the Breakaway and the Getaway), they will include the missing features of the Prima as part of the introduction package of the Leo 2. If they are still working on deck plans,  it must be for the Leo 3 and Leo 4.  From day one, I said that given the rather short period of time between the release of each ship, the first 3 would be quite identical.  Their first opportunity to fix design problems that they will encounter on the Prima would be with the Leonardo 4.

It's call a " change order ". Being around construction most of my life I seen changes occur daily. NCL had to list the cabins first in order to sell, we already have seen negative changes with the removal of some of the hot tubes in certain cabins. I too can't understand why there wasn't a basic rendering of each deck, the casino ( a major revenue generator ), standard fee based restaurant's and what about the bars?? This whole build seemed to clouded in mystery. Maybe I got spoiled watching the breakaways getting built ( Meyer Werft ) and this is normal for ( Fincantieri ) or we would could just blame COVID. Anyway thanks to this thread we were always one step ahead of NCL announcements and hopefully this will continue. Happy Holidays to All

For over 30 years, I was involved with software design and we were also getting change requests on a daily basis.  And it triggered revise cost and timeline recalculations.  My point was more with the nature of the ships.  Building a kitchen or a bar requires specific hardware such as electric and  gas lines, sewage and water pipes.  As all those lines are built inside the ceiling of the decks, I cannot see how they can add or move those once the blocks are assembled.  I saw several videos showing the various assembly of the components when new blocs are added and everything must be planned to the closest milimetre.  Changing the colour of a wall, installing a different chandelier or replacing furniture doesn't affect the actual built of a cruiseship.  Even for the casino, with all the lights and electric outlets that are required,  location and design must be decided at the planning phase, not 6 months prior to the delivery of the ship. Removing planned features (such as hot tubs) is much easier than adding new ones that were not planned.

Anyways,  I remain convinced that they know much more than what we were told and we will get most of our answers with the release of the Bella (or the Viva) or any other name that was on the list of the names that were registered by NCL a year or two ago.

My turn to wish a very happy holliday season  to one and all.

Moving this back to page #1 - wonder what the 1/12/22 announcement will be? Did someone here mention " Viva " :classic_laugh: about two weeks ago

A person that I met on a cruise  many years ago is a travel wholesaler.  She is usually considered a well informed person.  Few weeks ago, she said that until few weeks back, NCLH was still debating between 2 names but she was told that the final decision would probably be Viva.  But there were some legal stuff that had to be cleared before it is confirmed.

An email this morning mentioned the latitudes rewards program. It’d be great if they offered better perks!
