When I blew the photo up, it had the name of the building very prominently displayed.

 

So, the Lion was humanely put down. 
 

It is a place I visited quite a few times when I was a student in the US, and when I have been back.

 

There is at least one other lion, so it may make a more disguised return.

Just got back online after a trip up north. Love the LV, NM reference--they get no respect. About to drive thru tomorrow.

 

The American southwest is beautiful, in a different way than NYC and other places.

 

During our trip to Estes Park, CO, I got too close to an elk. Pics later.
