We’ve done that on Oasis Class ships for Suites and Pinnacles. We don’t do “Formal” anymore.

We also stopped doing formal as well. We will not even go into the DL during the cocktail hores because I can't wear shorts to just grab a cup of coffee. I am sure I would be attacked by everyone looking down their nose at me. So if and when the Pinnacle thing ever happens.... it will be a "Thanks, but no thanks," from me.

I will put on a long pair of pants and a collared shirt but that’s it.

I will as well, but not just for the DL. That is what I wear to the specialty restaurants, but we usually spend formal night in the casino and avoid all the hoopla.

It's odd, I don't mind dressing up for dinner and will wear a suit.  As soon as dinner is over we go back to the cabin and change into shorts and flip flops again.  I'm not staying dressed up all night.

Edit: This is also when we have are 1 mutually agreed to picture taken.

Royal sucked me in with the double points. In addition to the three already booked for the latter part of next year, my daughter and I added a quick 5-day to Bermuda in a JS. We booked it the day after we cancelled our long-awaited Hawaii January 2021 trip that would have included 7-days on the POA.

The Bermuda cruise will get me over 350. The savings on my next solo trip will likely cover much of the cruise fare for this one. The particular appeal to that cruise is that it is within reasonable driving distance.

Either my solo 12 day Montreal to Miami in October or 8  day Eastern Caribbean  Nov 14 would have bumped me to Diamond. Hoping my 8 day Eastern on Empress April 2020 doesn't get cancelled to accomplish my goal. Fingers crossed but not holding my breath

Sorry, but you don't stand a chance of making that sailing.😉

My objection to the receptions on the helipad is that there is nowhere to sit.  I stand around for about 10 minutes, get my sour-ass champagne, and leave.

Us too...walk about...say hello to a few, then head back to the SL for a nice uncrowded lounge, for a quiet drink in the A/C.  😉  We love sitting at the limited area at the bar.

The last time we were on the Liberty shorts had become common in the DL during the cocktail hours.

While I do not care what others wear anywhere... Lounges, Dining room Etc. (Truly, I do not care and it does not affect me) I personally will not go in without being in at least long pants and a collared shirt, when dress suggestions are in place.

As I recall, every welcome letter regarding the DL or CL asked for appropriate attire (no shorts) during the evening happy hour.

The difference in recent wording can be "suggested" attire I believe. The "appropriate" can vary by what one personally thinks.

We've seen "appropriate" enforced and not..so it seems to vary.

Again I could care less !

I don’t know what your question is? I said exactly that.. that during the times of dress suggestions I do not wear shorts.

Letters that we received on Oasis class only mentioned that long pants were required on formal nights. There was no mention one way or the other for non formal nights.
