This is a photo from one of my favourite cruises. It was taken on our Ruby Princess cruise to Canada and New England in 2016.  The photographer was one of our table companions from Australia and we are still in occasional contact.

Thanks Ann. I really miss it too. I bought a new dress for our Baltic cruise last June. That was cancelled and our February one to the Canaries. Am expecting our May cruise to the Eastern Med to be cancelled soon. Looks like it will be September (fingers crossed) before I get to wear it.

I've got a couple of 'cruise' dresses that I haven't had the chance to wear yet.Not sure if I will be able to fit into them by the time I go on a cruise!

Ann,  I think we will all have that problem. I am trying to eat sensibly but like lots of us, for me eating has become the highlight of the day.  We are following the rules, only going shopping once a week plus a delivered shop.  No social mixing. We are part of my daughter’s childcare bubble but only go there when needed. When I wake up in the morning my first thought is what are we eating today? Now, where are those chocolates  I have been hiding?

Me,a few days later in formal African bush attire. I was leading a Rhino poaching party near Vic falls.I said to my group,if he charges, bend down , pick up some poo and throw it in his face. They all said what if there is no poo,I said don't worry there will be.Another complaint to Cunard, when I got on in Singapore I was 10st,when I got off in Cape Town I was 18st.20180425_164305.thumb.jpg.3dea9fd1db517051a2e9c1376e9dd71c.jpg

Ann, I think you and I should go the same cruise. I love bling too. I have lots of dresses that I don’t wear anymore - some because I have dropped down a size over recent years and secondly I am moving on to sleeved dresses to cover my ageing arms!76519637-2CA8-45E9-9DC3-49564FBDA152.thumb.jpeg.2cd86f7234e4eb6767e5a17315df42c2.jpeg150A7B03-9FBB-4685-A5C3-9FF03E9F6D20.thumb.jpeg.1d548aae7e650139d8dfd370c7649497.jpeg3C0D17AA-48F8-4FA0-8144-D4228E58687A.thumb.jpeg.0bf35f148730a17b4b2fbb7998a43688.jpeg23D50893-53C9-4234-9712-807D8EC66945.thumb.jpeg.f905f639befdb2a491a2072c316d239a.jpeg

And we like the same colours. Love your black dress. You and your husband follow the same rules as we do - bow tie has to match the dress.

I really do miss cruising for lots of reasons, not just the dressing up bit. We have never had a bad cruise and seen so many lovely places. We have only had a couple of land based holidays in the last few years and, although we enjoyed them, I yearned for waking up in a new place everyday..  We also like the sea days, they are so relaxing, lots of things to do if you want to or just relaxing, reading or doing puzzles.  I’ve got my fingers crossed for our September cruise but who knows? Keep safe.

You all look very smart indeed. Dressing up is one part of a cruise that we don’t miss to be honest. We like smart casual and put up with formal but would be more than happy to see formal dropped!

I like dressing up but would prefer to have just one formal a week rather than 2nights.I have a wardrobe of shorter equally 'blingy' outfits for the smart casual evenings!!

The dressing up is one of the highlights of cruising for me because I rarely get the chance any other time.  I just looked in my cruise wardrobe and realised that I don't actually have lot of sparkly clothes but a few of my bags have sparkles on them.  The little silver art deco style bag is my favourite and my sisters and my niece have all borrowed it for various occasions.IMG_20210111_175524.thumb.jpg.b4b623068bd81f6bc0da0f6f95b009ad.jpgIMG_20210111_175201.thumb.jpg.bb91dad9069b499ec81d8cd1261cb472.jpg

Wonderful handbags! On my first cruise I wondered why some women had more than one evening bag. but I have lots to choose from now and compared to dresses they fit well even at the end of a cruise!!

I have bags in every conceivable colour and always take evening bags and shoes to match each of my dresses.  David moans about the amount of luggage that I take when we go on holiday.
