My bucket list is growing by the day (Riga, Travemunde, Rostock etc,,,)  so thank you all for posting such interesting and intriguing pictures.

Today we visit Copenhagen and the Kiel Canal and tomorrow we dock in Dutch ports - Amsterdam and Rotterdam

We did the transit of the Kiel Canal on Norwegian Dream which was the largest cruise ship that could sail the canal because it could 'dislocate' its funnel and drop it down the side of the stack to enable the ship to pass under the bridges.....

We have been before and decided to walk up the back streets passing the "Modern" Little Mermaid

Thanks! The camera is no longer used! It only happened that one day back in 2013.

Tomorrow we reach Zeebrugge. 

My Amsterdam pictures date from 1972. It was our first holiday abroad together  and we stayed in a caravan. We took more pictures of ourselves than we did of the scenery....we look so young!! We really do need to go back to revisit this beautiful city.

We decided to explore further afield in 2013 and had a lovely day in the Dutch countryside. 
 

Edam and its famous cheese.

2012 - we decided to visit Anne Frank’s house and walked there from the ship. The queue appeared quite long but we only waited about 30 minutes. Less than half the price of the organised excursion!

2016 - mooched around and found that there was free entrance at the time to the Royal Palace on Dam Square. Well worth a visit! It was late afternoon but we had a late departure with FO.

Good morning, Well it is time for me to "retire to our cabin", I have shared my pictures in the last 4 Photo posts during the last year, and it is time to take a break, I don't really have any more pictures of the currant places, although I have been to most of them ( some pre digital). I look forward our next cruise in October on Arcadia to Norway/ Northern Lights. I leave you with one of my favourite cruise pictures, which for me sums up, how we like to enjoy our cruises.  So for now  Bon voyage all.

I will still keep looking inmost days to keep up.🚣‍♂️ PS, these are not even our feet😁

Amsterdam 2017. We paid a visit to Keukenhof

followed by a trip on the canals.

Amsterdam - It was a dull day we got there this time 2017 having seen t

he main sights previously we set off to find Begijnhof,- at least the

chapel and the oldest house in Amsterdam

- we had a map and thought we know what we  were looking for.

 Got to the place and were up and down  the street several times as

we couldnt find it, perplexed as it was meant to be there.

 You will see why  -no signs for such an important place apart

from a stone above the entrance to an alleyway (ginnel in Lancashire!)

If anyone is interested in Greece we are currently watching   PBS America on freeview 84

As nothing ?else was on we stumbled upon this- started at 1 35 THis is Greece

2-40 athens  3.55 the peloponnese  500 the cycladic islands   6-15 rhodes

We will certainly be looking at this for future viewing

Fond memories of the gardens from Easter 1987 when my mother and I spent a few days in Amsterdam. I was teaching in South Wales at the time and as we were in a gift shop just before leaving the Gardens I heard someone ask me in Welsh - “What are you doing here Miss?” A coach load of teenagers from the local swimming club descended! They were lovely children though.
