A bit late in the cruise but further to the query  inserting a line between pics,

the site has a built in viewer  ( at least on windows laptop it does)

If you double click the first picture in a post it will ( should)( might)

open. then there are arrows to move back and forth through the series.

What it doesnt do is stop at the end so try and remember the first few pics

then click the cross  to close the viewer.

It then doesnt matter if there is a line between pics or not.

It will not however turn pics if they are on their side!

Hope that helps.

Beautiful pictures of Peterhof, Bee-ess.  You certainly had the weather for it.  Amazed to see that indoors everyone is wearing what look like the same tapochki I wore when I was last there 40 years ago.  Keep meaning to go there again, but all my trips to St Petersburg in recent years have been in the winter.

Good morning fellow cruisers and happy vaxing Bee-ess. Fabulous pictures again  which make my few pre-digital ones seem a bit paltry.

To create space between my pictures, I upload my pictures from my PC and I space my photos by clicking the + sign on all my chosen files to put them in the post first. I then scroll back to the first photograph and click my cursor at the bottom of that picture. I then click twice on the enter key to create the space and repeat this action on all the pictures.

I also had a problem with pictures posting sideways. These were scanned old photographs and I seem to have cured the problem by editing the pictures slightly on the PC 'pictures programme'. I either crop the picture slightly or straighten it a little bit and then save the alterations. When I post the pictures after that they appear correctly positioned.

Tomorrow we continue through the Baltic  Sea with  a stop in Tallinn.

We could not get any photos of the outside of the Church on the Spilled Blood in 2018 as that area was being used as a fanzone for the world cup - lots of equipment, portakabins and high fencing so photos impossible. We did go inside on our tour but the atmosphere was somewhat lost with all the loud music and drinking going on in that area which was a shame.

That’s a shame. The tour inside in 2010 was great. The guide told us that her mother remembered the church being used to store potatoes during WW2, but my photos are all dark. The children often say that they remember this church over all the others we have visited over the years!

We visited St. Petersburg on Britannia in 2018 when the World Cup was taking place but we did get some photos.

Morning all, firstly many thanks for the replies on how to Gap the pictures, I think i have now got it covered. We were there August 2016, HAL Zuiderdam, day1. we took escorted river tour + Church of Spilled Blood & a Russian lunch.( not too bad but would not get over excited) some americans on the tour did not like the choice of food(nil) of no veg option!! they just do not understand other countries ways. We then had an evening escorted tour of the Hermitage, We were told no photos allowed & had to hand bags in upon arrival( apparently there had been some attacks of exhibits that year) so the need for security!! It was a bit hurried too, they were closing the rooms down behind us as we shown around.sto4.thumb.JPG.ee872ffa7fe94203322b8e6f03000f12.JPG  stp2.thumb.JPG.8619ce3ba58dbcbf5f472dc0194d6dc2.JPG  stp3.thumb.JPG.d20c092deeec4c26916cf0e37f6149f1.JPG  stp5.thumb.JPG.60afec57679d15bdaa7d3db739827175.JPG  stp6.thumb.JPG.b37589713324b1d523f49354bf7c12af.JPG stp6.thumb.JPG.b37589713324b1d523f49354bf7c12af.JPG  stp7.thumb.JPG.591536d08708f1d71c49470606130214.JPG  stp8.thumb.JPG.26802084c16169972902e0eb485cb1e0.JPG  stp9.thumb.JPG.ac43b60e0872d3ab5f1f91f45f86f51c.JPG  stp10.thumb.JPG.23d4412a37d21678b56f2411c27f6491.JPGstp10.thumb.JPG.23d4412a37d21678b56f2411c27f6491.JPG  stp7.thumb.JPG.591536d08708f1d71c49470606130214.JPG  stp8.thumb.JPG.26802084c16169972902e0eb485cb1e0.JPG  stp9.thumb.JPG.ac43b60e0872d3ab5f1f91f45f86f51c.JPG  stp12.thumb.JPG.39559f446055b0e53a6cce821050037d.JPG  stp13.thumb.JPG.94cf094ea08a0523807039e9ffd14716.JPG  stp14.thumb.JPG.8c0ee563d7bc086a4bcbd251b7ea1598.JPG  stp15.thumb.JPG.3372ec7f0369a50147b36696c0d552e5.JPG  stp16.thumb.JPG.0490a56be57f46db943e773a5591c169.JPG  stp17.thumb.JPG.e33e3fe152a40852efe2fcd67f12e34e.JPG  stp18.thumb.JPG.eae02e0bdf738b458a66be3a21bbb880.JPG  stp19.thumb.JPG.610874b1b697231cf17bcc99dfa55245.JPG  stp20.thumb.JPG.e3d87d3f7442a00a15f25c4f469b3258.JPG  stp21.thumb.JPG.f526f16b0498c51abef4892e973206ff.JPG   stp22.thumb.JPG.30b5ab395336ac71fb26634a03126dbe.JPG  stp23.thumb.JPG.b43962f26c10748766038a620dd459aa.JPG  stp24.thumb.JPG.b9d1932deba0be8f34e610753f326418.JPG  stp25.thumb.JPG.da14dd237847e534a1cefe483d14ec23.JPG  stp26.thumb.JPG.2c5100d6a044f98c641fd88226b5f934.JPG  stp27.thumb.JPG.38176a48ce91c19ced1d0f7b9467e0e4.JPG  stp28.thumb.JPG.64b7f178e0190a2ba6a9e44960aca9ab.JPG  stp29.thumb.JPG.4f7600bcaf368ebfc915115489fee9f6.JPG

DAY2. Peterhof Palace. Again escorted, we taken out by coach & returned by hydrofoil, we were one of the 1st tours thru, which was good not too  crowded , & plenty of time to see/ wait for the fountains to be switched on at 11am. again no photos allowed at the time inside. on way back by hydrofoil we passed the football stadium still being built for 2018 world cup.pth1.thumb.JPG.1167da917c963b8825facacce19af5e2.JPG  pth2.thumb.JPG.5bcd7684048193795f9ea11a307817a3.JPG  pth3.thumb.JPG.90eda3e33e94c9f4a23b003f7210549f.JPG  pth4.thumb.JPG.ab709403c700e9d988cecb6a7bae06d0.JPG  pth5.thumb.JPG.52c0f124c19933a7f282f79266935155.JPG  pth6.thumb.JPG.07c337043b0d3768345c5c1f544b676a.JPG  pth5.thumb.JPG.52c0f124c19933a7f282f79266935155.JPG  pth8.thumb.JPG.eba48cf9abaf6973d348d7c2a0de1bf4.JPG  pth9.thumb.JPG.0b11351923e4cf33a4c476fc9a764d96.JPG  pth10.thumb.JPG.a615865f3717a48c4bbddda4524c9274.JPGpth10.thumb.JPG.a615865f3717a48c4bbddda4524c9274.JPG  pth11.thumb.JPG.b8284ecea088685544f6bd2e70c4a7e6.JPG  pth13.thumb.JPG.3e3c999d51734cbde8b8b7fa8830ce91.JPG  pth14.thumb.JPG.85d2c8bf3b63cc24d879fb13adb4a72a.JPG  pth15.thumb.JPG.ac113c59f6189dfd3f3653518286283a.JPG   pth16.thumb.JPG.cab3fb20a373a0852dffb4abb9d289ad.JPG    pth18.thumb.JPG.91aed452c7acda88eadca60ec80c04b1.JPG  pth19.thumb.JPG.0a97838480b4bae6925fbd11135c5a28.JPG  pth20.thumb.JPG.9505cf5a9e0c5f4b65a97f29af97b3bb.JPG

Many happy memories of our distant past visit to St. Petersburg. The pictures of the Russian entertainment brought back a scary experience I had. At the end of the meal the passengers went to the toilets. I was last in the queue and as I locked the door the whole handle mechanism came off in my hand. I shouted just as the door into the passageway closed so no-one heard me. I tried everything to try to open the door but nothing worked. Eventually a very disgruntled tour guide came in demanding to know why I was taking so long as the bus would leave without me. She was very apologetic when she realised my predicament and I was rescued shortly after....thank goodness.

The post about the Americans who didn’t appreciate the food reminded me of an incident in the dining room on an American ship. My DH and I were put on a table for 4 with an American couple and we chatted very amicably until the food arrived. As we started eating the lady suddenly shouted at us that we were disgusting and we should know better than to eat while holding a knife in one hand. Hadn’t we been taught proper table manners by our parents. She then grabbed her husband’s arm and they stormed out of the dining room muttering about how the class of passengers was not what it used to be!
We were speechless but realised that Americans do that very clumsy manoeuvre where they stab the food with their fork, hack it into pieces with their knife which they then put down before they transfer their fork to their knife hand to shovel their food into their mouth.....cultural differences!!!!!

And now for something almost completely different- we
went to St Petersburg and Moscow with the 3 kids in
1988.  Same two weeks as the Reagans.  Luckily
when we were in St P they were in Moscow & v.v
otherwise we wouldnt have been allowed anywhere.

So having "done" the main attractions we decided
on a cruise 2019 to just do a ship trip on to the
underground and on our second day stayed on board
and there were talks on Russia and Faberge and on dolls
food and other things.  Copies of some eggs were on show
not sure if they were for sale.  So 20 mins to station by
coach  maybe an hour visiting 3 stations 2 hours to
wander free in the city ( didnt expect that) and 40 mins back
on the coach.  I also add some of the buildings visible
from the ship and some of the Russian navy base.
