Oasis July 2, 2021

Recommended Posts

Just noticed that the Oasis July cruises from Cape Liberty, NJ port are no longer available on RCL reservation site.  Perhaps not surprising, the Freedom of the Seas is still available to reserve in July out of the same port.

We are scheduled for the Oasis July 2 cruise and eager to received official notice!

I'm on this sailing as well.  So either a decision was made, or they simply aren't selling more to limit capacity.  I believe yesterday I read there were other cruises that disappeared from bookings.  It would be good to know one way or the other.  It is still showing on my future cruise login.

Can book it right now on an online site I book cruises through, $4000 balcony cabin could turn into $5000 FCC if I book it now and the cruise does cancel.

May be just the opposite, there is a ton of cabins still available, might be canceled for lack of reservations, didn't meet there making  enough money on it sailing.

I'm on Royal's site and all the July sailings still come up, including yours on 7/2.

I just checked and the royal site is still showing cruises out of Bayonne on Oasis and Freedom for July and August.   The prices have shot way up which is usually sign they will be cancelled.   A balcony for 2 is selling for $4600 with their current sale/promotion.

We are also booked for the Oasis July 2nd cruise.  Still have heard nothing from Royal re cancellation or check-in.

We have it booked thru the casino folks since last September.  Back then, we were booking offers monthly hoping something would sail.  It has been a book, cancel, get new offer, book, cancel, ...

We still try to see the glass half full, but I am not one to waste half a glass.  A lot of emptying/refilling, ...

July. I can see. August cancellations of any kind is inexcusable. There has got to be a way to get this cruise line back in business by August.

Might have to wait a bit for that notice.

All that article does it is look at what Royal has posted as the first sailing of each ship that hasn't formally been cancelled. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether it will actually sail. You and I can go on Royal's website and pull the same info and publish the same article.

Exactly… that list is not based in any sort of reality as to which ships actually start sailing in July.

Our July 4th cruise on Allure of the seas disappeared.  We are 30 days out tomorrow with no communication.

This is because now Allure has been set with a test cruise.  Nothing will go out on that ship until they complete one test cruise.

Yes I'm quite aware of that. I was just informing that poster that theirs wasn't the only July cruise affected.

Unless freedom and oasis run test cruises out of NJ they won’t be sailing from there any time soon if at all this season.

The test cruises can be run out of Miami or any other embarkation port.  The individual ships just need agreements with whichever ports that the ships will be embarking from (such as Bayonne) and of course CDC approval once the test cruises have been completed.

So am I reading this right?  Each ship has to do a test run before its approved for use?

So how do you test port terminal protocols without a test cruise of some kind?

To you point then, not only does each ship needs to be tested, but each port needs one test cruise to go out of it as well.  Basically what I'm thinking here is each ship needs a simulated cruise that goes out, tests how the ship and crew function if there is an outbreak (which means the volunteer passengers need to know they "could" be used as test subjects and quarantined as training) AND they need to test distancing for both embarkation and debarkation in the ports as well as how to handle an early return for sick passengers.  This is going to take a LOT longer than I'm guessing lines will want to deal with.

No one really knows what's going on...all speculation at this point....events are fluid.  Until RCL makes some kind of formal announcement for each ship....it's pretty much up in the air.  All I know is that when I go to check my cruise on Cruise Planner I get Check In Unavailable for our July 9 cruise.
