scottie920 Posted June 13, 2021 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2021 Firstly apologies if this topic has featured before unfortunately cannot trace answer. We have Premium Drinks Package included with our Suite. We also have Captains Club status which I understand gives a discount on Drinks Packages and any upgrades. Can anyone please offer any advice on what the upgrade daily cost per passenger would be from premium drinks package to ‘drinks and more’ package and if any Captains club discount can be applied. Thank you. Regards

Aloha 1 Posted June 15, 2021 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2021 Same here. Anyone know what the upgrade cost is for Suite passengers?
scottie920 Posted June 15, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted June 15, 2021 It’s seems to be extremely difficult to find this information on the Celebrity Website or in the cruise planner of the booking, which only shows the full cost of the packages, not the upgrade specifically to your booking, which isn’t ideal. I suspect it might mean we will have to speak to customer services if we can get through.
gcorgain Posted June 15, 2021 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2021 I believe the upgrade cost from the Premium package that most suite passengers has is $9pp/pd. I took this on my last cruise as we had lots of sea days and wanted to relax on the balcony with the wine and mini bar. Not sure I would do it again, but maybe on a TA where we will have lots of sea days. The wine is not very good, and the wine tasting was packed and mediocre. For us it would be the mini bar and the $50 in the casino. Hard to see using $18/day for the minibar. It is a better deal on a short cruise as the upgrade cost is smaller and the casino credit remains the same.
LuvCruzn4Evr Posted June 15, 2021 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2021 It was $9 pp per day on our last cruise (Mar 2020). Since we each received $50 casino credit, it was a great deal on a 5 night cruise. Even on a 7 night cruise, I think it's worth it if you enjoy the casino. I don't recall getting a discount but we easily could have. It was nice having kind bars and pringles in the cabin that were replenished daily and also bottled water that they kept stocked. I was fine with the white wine...not so much with the reds we got. I'll do it again for 7 days or less. If Celebrity has not added the premium beverage package to your reservation, the drinks and more will not show the correct pricing. Contact Captain's Club and they can help you.

I agree, for the shorter cruises 7 days or less it does make sense to do but longer ones not really worth it overall. If you already have the premium pkg I usually find this sufficient overall. Last question..how do you book and can you use OBC. Thank you.
Sykes Posted June 15, 2021 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) Still $9/day all-in ($7.50 + $1.50 service charge) for my June 26th Edge sailing. Shouldn't be hard for me to get $13 of value out of it after the $50 casino credit. Edited June 15, 2021 by Sykes
anniedave Posted June 15, 2021 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) This package had just started when sailed Feb 2020. It might be better now but none of the crew seemed to know about it - It took us 3 days to start getting the fridge replenished, we got charged for items used which we has to go & sort out, we only got drinks replenished not snacks, we only got 2 bottles of wine not 4 and it took 4 days to get it changed from red to white ( no choice of wine.) Couldn't use the casino credit to participate in poker tournaments. We did enjoy the wine tasting and having soft drinks readily available but it was too much hassle so We won't bother with it again !! bruzin_for_a_cruizin Posted June 16, 2021 #11 Share Posted June 16, 2021 I just booked on the Apex for the Nov 13th sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. The booking includes the standard drinks/wifi/tips perk, but the cruise planner doesn't show an option to upgrade to the premium drink package. Is that because I'm still 150 days out, and I should see that as I get closer?

Captain Club Select members get a 5% discount when booking pre cruise and CC Elite & E+ get 10%. I guess if you want to give them your money sooner you can call the Captains Club. gone2c Posted June 16, 2021 #14 Share Posted June 16, 2021 My cruise is on the Edge 7/I7. I am elite. My charge for the 7 night upgrade to drinks and more was $52.50. I travel solo. For this I receive $50 in casino play, 2 bottles of wine, mini bar replenished daily and wine tasting. It is a no brainer for me. Someone may have to carry me off the ship or maybe I can just host a party.
Seany527 Posted June 17, 2021 #15 Share Posted June 17, 2021 Omg. I’m so glad someone asked about this package. I didn’t want to start a new thread to complain, but this package was such a huuuuge hassle when I used it last week on the Millennium. The cost to upgrade for me was $9 per person, per day and included $50 per person in the casino. Day 1, our room steward had no record of this being purchased. All I had for proof was the billing receipt on my phone. He tried to tell me that although I upgraded to the premium beverage package, it didn’t include drinks from the mini bar. I tried to explain to him that it was a separate package but he didn’t understand. I went to guest services and they were able to confirm I had the package and they would relay the message to the department. So that was cleared up but then I was told that the water in the room was not part of the minibar and that I would have to pay for. I talked that out with guest services later and they were able to confirm the water was included as well. Next, although not a big deal, Pringles were suppose to be included and listed as an item in the minibar contents in the cabin. I asked the room steward about the Pringles, but he said they didn’t have any. Whatever. So next is a wine tasting that you are suppose to be invited to. On day 3 I asked guest services when that would be and she said it was held on day 2, but they would be offering another one later in the cruise and the invite would be sent to my cabin. Guess what, the invite never came. I didn’t say anything because at this point, I was over the whole package. Too much stress. The only silver lining was the casino credit, which I was somehow able to turn that credit into almost $200. Would I book the package again....no. The only nice part was always having water in the room, but that could have been accomplished by stopping at a bar and grabbing a few to take back. I think the package is super unpopular and the crew just haven’t been trained with what it involves.

I thought there was an option to pay $12 pp per day if you booked under “always included.”

Hi Seany, first off, thank you for all your postings from the Millennium, we are booked on the 8/14 trip (now Summit) so all your information was very helpful. On to this subject, I wish I would have waited to purchase this package as I paid $21 pppd I beleive, total was $294 for 2 of us. I purchased the upgrade thinking it was a good deal considering all that was included and the regular price was $76 +/- pppd. I am hoping they get things straightened out prior to our cruise so we can enjoy it as this will be our first time with Celebrity. Thanks again, Perry

Thanks again, Perry Perhaps you were upgrading from different places? If you had the Classic package, it would cost more than an upgrade from Premium. Or so I assume. It looks like you paid $21 vs $9 pppd, with the difference matching the $12 to upgrade from Classic to Premium.

I believe you paid $21 because you had not yet upgraded to the premium beverage package. Once you have the premium beverage package, which is $12 per day, then it’s only $9 per day for Drinks and more (which is what I paid). It’s essentially a wash in pricing. If you did over pay, it was by just a couple of dollars total.

We are really looking forward to this trip as we have never visited St Maarten either so we are going a day early. I know it's not a lot of time but I have a morning island tour booked on the day we embark and chose a 2pm boarding time which will work out ok, hopefully. The only thing that is a bit nerve wracking is the testing and the changes that keep happening, just keeping track of it all. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will have all gone away by the time August rolls around!!! Thanks!!
KimberandBigB Posted October 30, 2021 #23 Share Posted October 30, 2021 DO NOT RECCOMEND! We added this package on to our premium package on Edge October 2nd. DSJ28 Posted January 24, 2022 #24 Share Posted January 24, 2022 Yikes! We upgraded from Classic to Drinks & More for our March Apex cruise. I had the idea that this added premium plus a few perks (casino, wine tasting, and mini bar). I see now that's not the experience people have had - and this is going to be awfully confusing when we board and the crew knows nothing about it. I'm tempted to cancel and just upgrade to premium to avoid the headache. Here's how my reservations shows the package:
DSJ28 Posted January 24, 2022 #25 Share Posted January 24, 2022 Found this link in another thread from a wonderful CC'er who's name I didn't make note of - but it seems I wasn't mistaken after all - the Drinks and More upgrade includes everything in Classic and Premium packages as well as the additional perks ($50 casino credit, wine tasting, and mini bar). I'll have to bring this with me to make sure I get premium drink benefits! https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/05_07_SP_Beverage-Package-Flyer_051721.pdf
