Me loudly “Look at all of the rust on that royal Caribbean ship!”

Yes, I'm just now on page 82.  😂  Funny thing, they must have heard you.  We were at the tiki bar at Grill's at the port last Sunday 9/12 and the Allure was docked next to us.  Two guys on a little boat were cleaning and painting over the rust on the back of the ship.  I should have taken pictures.  They were dipping the roller thing into the salt water and rolling it all over the rust.  Then they painted over it.  It was a slow process but it started looking good during the three hours we were there.

Did they email this to you or was it in your Today's Deals on Carnival.com?

Email.

So I clicked on it and honestly I’m not seeing anything for a “free room”. The lowest prices I’m seeing are $80 and that’s for a cruise starting next weekend. I’m a planner and could never just book a cruise for next week.  Also, I’m sorta confused by the “free room” thing.  You also have to pay a $200 deposit and you get $200 onboard credit.  Weird.

I booked an inside for $65/person for Oct 2-9 on MG and I saw cruises all the way till December.  Yes, they were more expensive as the year progressed, but still a good deal.  I thought the "free room" deal was a little weird as well.  Like, you want my money now and I'll spend $200 onboard for something (booze) that costs Carnival pennies on the dollar.  I went for the cheaper deal.

But isn't it tempting....just book that cruise!  😉

I did not receive an email offer, but my PVP called this afternoon to see if we wanted to add an 8-night to our 6-night Horizon next month, to make  a B2B.  It would have been $620 (total for the cabin) in a balcony, with tips prepaid.   We did not take advantage of it, but made sure he will keep us on his list of people who can cruise at the last minute.

Gratuities can be paid from that $200 OBC. The idea is you have some sort of commitment (it's non refundable if you don't take the cruise) but basically they're giving it back to you. Just don't pre pay gratuities if you're sailing on one of those offers. That would be a foolish thing to do.

@Saint Greg I saw you quoted me on my Test Photo thread but it was shut down before I could see what you said.  Sorry.

I was just demonstrating the issue. At least I can tell you when an iPhone is going to do it. The problem is I don’t always notice it at the time. Especially if I’m walking around with my camera app open taking a bunch of pictures.

If I just turn point my phone and open my camera, this is what it looks like. Button on the right. 2x on top, .5 on bottom. And it will post normal.

Lets say I’m walking around taking a bunch of pictures and I get discombobulated so the phone is flipped around where the button is on the left and the .5 is on top with the 2x on bottom.

I have a box that holds 10-12 of those ketchup packets. I try to bring about 100 straws.

Yeah we have them in the store as well. I don't want to carry that around the ship with me though.

I’m going to borrow this from someone else’s Instagram since I never went in Havana during their entertainment. It always seemed loud and crowded and I couldn’t understand what they were singing about.

Greg:

Over a multitude of port stops to Nassau over the years, I'd never once visited the John Watling's Distillery . . . but I can no longer say that, and all because of your suggestion.  Thanks!!

I split my 2/$19 with two different beverages, and both were superb. 🙂

I also went to John Watling's Distillery last week for the first time thanks to Greg's suggestion.  Agree that the Pina Colada is excellent.  Bought some rum so I can try to recreate at home if I can get the proportions of Coco Lopez and pineapple juice correct.

Also want to thank Greg for including info about the comedians in this review.  We attended more comedy shows in one week than total shows in 15 cruises.  All 4 were good, but enjoyed Jim Cook and Percy Crews 2 so much that we went to almost all of their adult shows and even 2 PG shows.  Andy can be pretty funny too and he was a good sport when both Jim and Percy tried to hook him up with girls.

Thanks Greg!  Congrats on your "official" you tube channel!

Are the pretzel buns at SeaDogs available every day?

Just seeing a couple of your questions I don't think I answered. Yes. They have several bun options but if you don't ask for a specific one they'll just give you a regular one.
