We were told the ship is going to the Bahamas for a required hull inspection so most likely that will happen while there

That reminded me of a situation we had on the Emerald a few years ago.  We were on the first cruise to Mexico after the ship had been in Alaska all season.  We were in an aft suite and experienced  the vibrations, then one day when we came back from an excursion we found that there was no air conditioning on portions of the ship.  Apparently some "creatures" had settled into some of the pipes and when we got into warm water it created all kinds of problems.  They had to send divers down to clear out the problem.  We got a letter and a generous amount of OBC that trip even through we only called Passenger Services once and didn't make a big deal about it.  They were suffering too!

We've been in an aft/wake-view cabin many times, and every time they are going full speed there is vibration, sometimes pretty serious vibration.  Bungie cords and towels in the closet!  We seem to be lucky enough to be able to sleep through most of the worst - even thrusters.

The 840 number was given to me earlier by staff at the purser’s desk. 
the captain just announced a total of 773 pax (= 25.1%)

 

this against an announced crew staffing of 1125 is simply amazing!!

Yesterday was a fun day in Puerto Vallarta. I did the Princess Beach Resort Excursion. Unfortunately the excursion was rescheduled for later hours due to our late arrival in PV. Thus we only had 2:35 to spend at the resort instead of the 3:55 we should have had. 

We were taken to the Marival Vacation Club in Nuevo Vallarta about 10 miles away. Then a welcome drink and short orientation and off we went.

The beach had plenty of chairs with shade. The ocean was about 86F.

There were 4 pools each a little different. From a smaller kids pool with slide and waterfall, two large pools one with entertainment, both with swim-up bars and one Adults only pool. Chairs were also available at all pools with umbrellas.

Food was available at a sit down restaurant in the resort and a smaller beach side grille on the far north of the property.

We made it back to ship 15 minutes after it was supposed to depart but that was due to poor planning. 

Monday night football was shown on the big screen and I watched it from the hot tub while enjoying some snacks and drinks.

Not a bad day.

Today was a typical sea day and the first formal dinner of the cruise. 

We are currently off the coast of Oaxaca nearing Puerto Escondido.

Sure wish we had gotten this on Day 1. We didn’t realize tonight was formal nught until we went to dinner. Then when we returned to our cabin abiut 10pm, it was under the door.

With 1/3 less time there, did Princess offer a partial refund of the excursion cost?

They were on the Pacific Princess and my wife remembers that he told her he liked her formal night dress.  Hope they we will still be on board when we sail on the 6th of November.

Thanks for all the updates and important information.  My guess is that we'll have a passenger total about double that of what you are having now, but it still will be like we have the ship to ourselves.

Our waiters used to remind us the night before in case we didn't know.

Our room steward knocked on our stateroom door to remind us that it was a formal night. The service has been great.

Water is a little rougher today and announcements made to be careful walking on decks.  Since moving our cabin forward we are not feeling vibration just some gentle rolling which is peaceful💤    Our cabin steward just confirmed they are moving their dining to Botticelli and passengers to Michaelangelo.  He is wondering how they will accommodate this since the crew has been passing theu the galley to get food buffet style and their is no galley in Botticelli.  He has been great keeping us up to date and even convinced me to use the laundry service we have at a park 1st time for everything!   We had a great conversation with Jody and her team after the Liars Club show last night which was absolutely hysterical!   Entertainment is not lacking on this cruise!
