ShaneLorie Posted November 5, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2021 Ncl God bless them, for their mask less cruises. Loving them! Masks for the vaccinated should be by choice. Period! We miss RCL, ( over 30 cruises) but just booked a b2b with NCL again. Think about it. Where else on planet earth can you go where every adult is vaccinated?, Cruise ships = Safest places on earth from covid!!!! Just want it to be optional. I'm not anti Vax obviously, I'm not a big believer in masks but never fight it. I follow the rules. But for the life of me, make it OPTIONAL RCL!!

taglovestocruise Posted November 5, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2021 We cruise on January 10th. Mask will probably not be required on the next sailing. Luck of the Irish has been failing lately

I wasn’t a fan of Celebrity Cruises when they started building the Solstice-class. Loved the Century- and Millennium-class. LOVED them. After that it was mostly all Princess Cruises and Holland-America Line. Not sure I’d sail NCL, masks or not, just not my cup of tea. I’ll stick with RCI and masks.

WindinmySails Posted November 5, 2021 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2021 (edited) Not everyone is vaccinated. If i remember correctly, children can still cruise, and they are not vaccinated. I am good with Royal's decision. My husband has stage 4 cancer, trying to live life while he still can, and I was happy that they hd safeguards in place. It is nice to have options! Oh, and on a side note, my mother, fully vaccinated is now struggling with COVID. Edited November 5, 2021 by WindinmySails

Required vaccine, required test, required mask, seems quite redundant.

With that said, since all adults MUST be vaccinated, and assuming your husband does not hangout in children's schools .... then even a maskless cruise is FAR SAFER for your husband then anywhere he could possibly go in your own local area. 1

Oooh that is the type of answer was hoping for! HOPEFULLY Rcl adjusts then. I had to Google CSO, so for others who will need to: Conditional sailing order. 😉 Thanks HeyMarco!
Rare DCPIV Posted November 6, 2021 #14 Share Posted November 6, 2021 The CSO could be extended again. I won't be surprised if CDC allows it to expire, but I also won't be surprised if they extend it for a few more months. It's premature to bet on either. 1
luckyinpa Posted November 6, 2021 #15 Share Posted November 6, 2021 the agony of 3 hours of testing to get on NCL really took the wind out of my sails. maybe no more bermuda for a while. but i def preferred it once on the ship. everything being totally open and yes 1/2 capacity was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice.

Not aware of that time frame on any cruise line. show up in NYC at pier 88 to get car sniffed by dog. drop bags. walk to pier 90. its 1125 am. no one is checking check in times. it's a total mess. 1 hour line to get to where 4 people are checking vax cards and passports. then you get in a line to register for testing. 1 hour to do that. you get a bar code and a vial then you hvae to stand in line to GET tested. the complicating that is employees dont have control of the lines. you get up to the front of one then they tell you go to the back of the pier in another line. finally at 2pm you get back to pier 88 and in ANOTHER line to get your cabin key and register. i heard the following week some have waited 4 hours. it's nuts . bermuda is a nice place but dang dont wanna go thru that again. next time id get there 2 hours earlier

Nothing is stopping cruise lines from being stricter than the CDC (see NCL requiring 100% not 95%) just that they can't be less strict.
