CVS & Walgreens Covid Test

Have people been finding it easier to get appointments now with CVS & Walgreens for covid tests? I just looked online and many appointments available when a few months ago very hard to get one. What are your thoughts on that?

I was able to get one at Walgreens easily where I live for going to the Formula 1 race in Austin a few weeks ago.  I imagine it depends on where you live.

Our CVS (Florida) was very easy to schedule our tests 14 days out.  Just had to answer a few questions and pick the type of test we wanted...Then select the location and time.  They had lots of appointments open for even the next day.

Will be on Mariner November 30th. Checked today and our local CVS has appts open thru November 21 right now.

My cvs said they would have results in one to two days , not good enough

Yes, much easier - we didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to book our appointments this time.

Was that for the PCR test or the rapid test?  Around here, the rapid test comes back within hours (if even that long).  It's the PCR test that takes a day or two (or three).

Just booked a rapid test for Friday with Walgreens. Plenty of time slots

As many others have experienced, CVS just cancelled my test for Thursday. At least it wasn't last minute. That was my backup plan thank goodness.

We have at least 1 drive-thru facility where I am in central Texas and it has the rapid test. I will order 2 tests as a backup but we intend to go on the Friday before our 1/23/22 cruise out of Galveston.

Definitely more availability now.  In fact Walgreens has gone from offering appointments two days in advance to five days in advance.  Lots of times available for the rapid test near me, often same day.  That was not the case a few months ago.

We were able to book our Walgreens appointments 4 days in advance.  I checked again today just out of curiosity and there are still a lot of available times for the next 4 days, including tomorrow.

Couple weeks ago I think you mentioned drive through testing at Kiwanis Park on Merritt Island. Do you know if that location is still operating and whether appointments are required or not? Thanks

We have several free drive up testing sites in the Chicago suburbs and even a new company that will come to your home free of charge. Results are extremely quick with rapid test. May book Walgreens if free of charge before next cruise in Dec. just to hedge if other companies fold up last minute. They said they would continue as long as covid is still around.

We scheduled a CVS test for this Thursday 9 days ago but Walgreens just does 4 days in advance.  We scheduled Walgreens test late on Thursday as back ups.  If the CVS test happens we will cancel Walgreens.

that's what we are planning to do. I already scheduled our CVS tests 2 weeks in advance, but whenever Walgreens appts become available - I'll book those as a backup for the same day.

It's still open, we drove by it on Friday.  I don't think you can make appointments in advance but maybe the day of?  Not positive about that though.

CVS cancelled our rapid antigen tests with out warning multiple times. Went to a county testing site with free rapid antigen and PCR testing.
