Any idea of cost and what sis included.

We did the $79 pp daypass option last week. Does not include food. The pass that does include food is (i believe) $115 pp  (includes a $25 food credit)

The food is kind of expensive, for example, a turkey wrap and fries was $16. Food is really good though.

Passes give you access to the entire property, including the adult only infinity pool on the 4th floor of the hotel, and of course beach access. Loungers are first come, first serve but pass includes an umbrella (workers will set it up for you)

There were 6 ships in port when we were there, but no problem finding a lounger.

Also, the walk is about 20 mins from the pier and it was HOT, so just fyi, a cab will only cost $5 pp back to the pier. Front desk at Margaritaville will call a cab for you.

Enjoy if you decide to go!

We did it a few weeks ago as well.  Decent value for the price.  Beach is small and next to a huge party beach.  the Spring breakers where in full force but looked fun.  Pool is decent with a lazy river that is not bad at all.  Cheaper than a lot of excursions that bring you to a dumpy area to swim.  Drinks are 13.00 and in plastic cups (not very big) beers are cheaper by the bucket next store and you can bring them to your chairs with no issue.  If a cheap beach day next to the ship is what you crave its definitely worth the walk over.

Actuallly, next visit we are checking out Ardastra Gardens. Looks like fun.   https://ardastra.com/

We did a b2b and first the week we went to Clifton Heritage National Park.     Beautiful area.    I contacted them via email and arranged for them to pick up our family of 4 and we spent the entire day touring the area, snorkeling is beautiful in this area with underwater sculptures, old plane from james bond movie.  We had a nice caribbean lunch with selection of fish or chicken.      We didn't make it to jaws beach but there is an old boat from jaws movie.   They drove us back too.      Very reasonable price of $85 pp with transportation.

Gave me a new experience of Nassau and seeing a part of the island that most cruisers don't know about.    Highly recommend.

the 2nd week we walked to Junkanoo Beach (just past Margaritville Resort) and got loungers for $10 pp and hung out near the Salty Crab that has awesome conch fritters.      bucket of beer was 3 or 4 for $10 -

the initial area of Junkanoo beach is a bit crowded but the further you go down the beach towards the Salty Crab shack was not as crowded and was nice laid back vibe.   It was a very hot day with hardly any breeze so after a couple hours on the beach we opted to take a taxi back to port for $12 for 2 adults.

That ship is beautiful now. It was refurbed a few years ago and looks great. After Jimmy gets his hands on it. I think it will be a beautiful floating resort.

The rebranding of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line into the upbeat, tropically-vibed Margaritaville at Sea has been delayed, with multiple cruises canceled as the line has pushed back the inaugural sailing of its rebranded flagship, Margaritaville Paradise. The new line is now scheduled to debut on May 14, 2022.

Rebranding Delayed

The anticipated launch of Margaritaville at Sea has been pushed back two weeks, with multiple sailings canceled because of the delay.

The new cruise line was scheduled to debut on April 30, 2022, but the first voyage of the updated and renovated Margaritaville Paradise will now be May 14, according to the cruise line’s booking website and postings on social media.

Guests booked on the impacted sailings received an email with the news, citing that the delay is a result of supply chain issues.

As the ship is being completely renovated, with new décor, theming, and onboard features, it is entirely possible that materials have not arrived in time to complete the work in order to deliver the signature Margaritaville experience adequately.

“We need to make sure the first cruise is perfect,” a company representative said in responding to Facebook comments.

Impacted guests have reached out to the cruise line’s customer service about the canceled sailings, and have reported that refunds will be offered or cabins can be rebooked to later sailings.

Details of those options were not immediately available, and guests should contact the cruise line’s customer service or their travel agent, if they used one, to confirm and make appropriate arrangements.

Cruise Line Transformation

The Florida-based Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, which offers 2-night sailings from the Port of Palm Beach to Freeport on Grand Bahama Island, announced in December 2021 that the cruise line was to be rebranded to Margaritaville at Sea.

That rebranding is including a complete update to the line’s single cruise ship, transforming from Grand Classica of Bahamas Paradise to Margaritaville Paradise of Margaritaville at Sea.

Updates to the ship will include new onboard features familiar to the Margaritaville brand, such as JWB Prime Steak & Seafood, Frank and Lola’s Pizzeria, Port of Indecision Buffet, LandShark Sports Bar, and Margaritaville Coffee & Pastry Shop as well as the Euphoria Lounge, Sunset Bar, and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar.

Additional decorative elements and stateroom details are sure to be updated to reflect the ship’s new brand as well.

The rebranding timeline, however, is a tight one indeed. The last sailing of Grand Classica under the Bahamas Paradise name and brand is departing the Port of Palm Beach on Saturday, April 16. The cruise will return and debark its last passengers on April 18.

The initial April 30 debut of Margaritaville Paradise meant the ship’s renovation and rebranding would take place in just 12 days, a very short period for such intensive work, even if most of the work may be decoration and styling details.

With a further two weeks now available because of the inaugural sailing pushback, the cruise line can ensure more attention to detail and thorough completion of the work. This will permit more time to update the ship in order to truly deliver the quality of the Margaritaville experience to passengers once the ship sets sail.

Wow! What is YOUR problem Sr.? You are the one who has been having an aggressive attitude to anyone who criticizes this very old and very ugly ship. Got a problem with people seeing what's evident? Too bad.

It's a very old ship You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Guess so many on here have no idea what was completed with that ship. Before PBCL purchased it. It went through major renovations. PBCL also did renovations and the ship really looks nice on the inside.  Now it will be even better and lively for sure. It will be far different from other cruise ships. It is meant to be. Like the other lines and ships. Go on them, certainly your choice. As I said before. Do not like it, why bash it. Just do not go on it. So many to choose from.

  • 2 weeks later...

With the inaugural sailing of Margaritaville at Sea fast approaching this May, the cruise line has announced its entertainment offerings for the first in the fleet, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise.

Entertainment Details for Margaritaville Cruise Ship

The newest cruise line in the U.S. will soon begin operations with its first vessel out of the port of West Palm Beach in Florida. Margaritaville at Sea has revealed its entertainment options when its first ship, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, sets sail in May 2022.

The new cruise line aims to get guests into vacation mode as soon as they step on board by being greeted by island-inspired music, friendly “Fins Up Crew” team members, and iconic Margaritaville stilt walkers.

“We are thrilled with the response we’ve received since announcing Margaritaville at Sea, both from our travel advisor partners and the public at large,” said Francis Riley, Chief Commercial Officer of Margaritaville at Sea.

“There is incredible demand for the unique product we are bringing to market and the announcement today of our onboard entertainment will certainly create even more excitement, as we are offering exclusive programming you can’t find anywhere else.”

The main attraction during the voyage will be Tales from Margaritaville: Jimmy’s Ship Show, which will be a music journey written and produced by Jimmy Buffett and Producer Frank Marshall. The show will feature stories and songs inspired by Jimmy’s bestselling book, “Tales from Margaritaville.”

“We could not be more excited to have our guests experience this show onboard Margaritaville at Sea – created and written by Jimmy and Frank,” said Tamara Baldanza-Dekker, Chief Marketing Officer of Margaritaville. “A match made in paradise!”

“It’s been very cool working with Jimmy to put together a ship show filled with his unforgettable songs and stories,” said Frank Marshall. “I can’t wait for the maiden voyage!”

In the ship’s Oasis Room and beyond, travelers will enjoy diverse and talented musicians, late-night comedy hours on select departures, game shows for the whole family, streaming concerts at sea, themed parties, kids programming, and much more.

In addition to entertainment, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise will feature gourmet food and beverage options, including JWB Prime Steakhouse, Frank and Lola’s Pizzeria, Port of Indecision Buffet, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, Margaritaville Coffee, Euphoria Lounge, and Sunset Bar – as well as pools, retail stores, a St. Somewhere Spa, Fins Up! Fitness Center, among other services and amenities.

The vessel was previously operated under Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, but after a refurbishment, the new-look ship will debut on May 14 from West Palm Beach, Florida. The ship was scheduled to debut on April 30, but multiple sailings were canceled, and the first voyage moved to May.

As I purposely avoid any visits to any Margaritaville on land, I doubt vary seriously I'll ever spring for a 2 day jaunt to Freeport.  Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed JB's music over the years (tip: Rancho Deluxe is one of his best--terrible movie, great sound track). Just not committing my retirement $ to fund his retirement.
