It was 43F with a little breeze this morning at 6:30 but we bundled up and walked several miles through our neighborhood for a little exercise. We are making lists of things needed to take to DD's house to help with the cooking Christmas weekend and will go shopping later today. The chicken dishes looked yummy Debbie @dfish. Thanks for your work on presenting them to us each day. Big thanks to Rich @richwmnfor the Daily and happy travels to him. Roy @rafinmdthanks for the Care and Celebration lists. Many prayers and good thoughts go out to our Jacqui @kazuand Jose, to Father @Himselfand to Roy as he completes his course of radiation treatments. When do you finish up completely Roy? Will they skip a day or two at Christmas? Good luck this morning @1ANGELCAT! And finally, prayers for niece Amy's DH who has throat cancer and has surgery today. I hope it all goes well. After that they said chemo and radiation so it must be pretty bad. A sad Christmas for her and the family.🙏 Our days to celebrate are pretty nice on this date. Caroling is always fun, even for those who can't carry a tune. I remember going caroling with neighborhood kids as a child. Sangria is enjoyable, especially at the holidays. It looks so festive! And games are great and even more so when families gather at the holidays. I can't believe it! Two ports in a row I've been to! December has been dismal for my YES list on ports. Only 5 yesses in 20 days! I told DH we have a lot of places we have to see still, as he rolled his eyes at me.🙄 I will post this and return with some photos of Falmouth which we reached on our final Prinsendam voyage in 2019.😪 Sandi,I hope the surgery goes well.Prayers for the family and patient. 12
Rare *Miss G* Posted December 20, 2021 #27 Share Posted December 20, 2021 Good morning, Dailyites. We are back from our cruise and I am still feeling the motion of the ocean. Imagine my shock when I discovered I would have to cook my own breakfast. Today will be a busy one as I unpack, launder, repack, shop, and gather accumulated goodies to take with me as I start my journey to Canada tomorrow. It’s an 8 hour drive but I break it into two 4-hour segments. When we left on our cruise, last week, we were able to do our covid tests at either the walk-in clinic or any of the pharmacies. Last night I went online to see if I could still take a test and saw the posted screenshot. Also no available appointments at the pharmacies. Luckily I planned ahead and have a home test I will be doing later on today. Hopefully the results will be good news. I was sorry to read that @kazuJacqui and Jose are still on the care list but offset by a glimmer of improvement. Keep up the good work, Jose! I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful and productive day. 17

Like Sangria and games...Mexican Train being the favorite. Interesting quote and very true I'm sure. Will pass on the meal and have not been to today's destination. Have a fabulous cruise @richwmn. Good luck with your treatments @rafinmd. Prayers and toasts to our lists. Stay safe, social distance, and wear your mask. Gunfire: Gunfire is a British cocktail made of black tea and rum. StLouisCruisers Posted December 20, 2021 #31 Share Posted December 20, 2021 On May 8, 2019 we enjoyed a little visit to Falmouth, England. It was cloudy with a chance of rain but we had found if we took our Prinsendam umbrella (which was conveniently placed in the walk-in closet) the raindrops stayed away. That's what happened this day, too. I was surprised to see an American flag on the dock. We walked downtown enjoying the scenes along the main street of town. According to the sign on the window, this shop had award-winning pasties They looked good to me! At the far end of the street we came upon a lovely little wharf area. Across the water was this view which I just loved. The varying colors of green on the hillside, the large homes along the water, and all the beautiful sailboats made a very pleasing picture. I used this photo as the cover of my Shutterfly photo book of this cruise. And here we have a local ferry! Not so big, is it? I wonder how far the ride was? We walked around a little further. I noticed this little fella had a band around his leg. They're keeping track of seagulls? We went up to this point in town and turned back towards our home away from home, the Prinsendam. Nearer the ship was this line of row homes, all of different colors. They really caught your eye. And a boat full of rowers Leaving port that evening we sailed by this manor. And this lighthouse. An enjoyable day was had by all! 29

We have been to the port and enjoyed cream tea in a small shop.My pictures are on my laptop which CC seems to dislike. The news Tana received from the specialist was guarded at best. She is having a difficult time both physically and psychologically. We are doing our best and hope she will benefit from counseling. It is very difficult to get an appointment with any mental health practitioner in our area.Fingers crossed. Thanks for the Daily and all contributors. @richwmn enjoy your cruise! Terry Extra prayers for Tana as she struggles with her health, both physically and mentally. I hope she can get the appointment she wants very soon.🙏 15

I know exactly what you are feeling now, with the loss this year of my dearest sister, and DMIL just this month. The fond memories are what keep us going. 😢 16

StLouisCruisers Posted December 20, 2021 #45 Share Posted December 20, 2021 I was telling DH about all the troubles everyone was having logging in, posting, liking posts, etc. just a little while ago. Then BAM! I showed I was logged in but I wasn't! The gremlins caught up with me. I was having no luck on Chrome so changed to Edge and now can log in. Just thought I'd let everyone know what worked for me so it might help others. 🤪 12

Sharon in AZ Posted December 20, 2021 #47 Share Posted December 20, 2021 Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! I’ve been in CC jail, all afternoon and evening yesterday and just now after I posted replies. Very frustrating and even more so this morning, my arthritis is really hurting my fingers today. I’ll switch to the desktop later. Merry Christmas from Alaska! Have a great day everyone! 24

kb4683 Posted December 20, 2021 #50 Share Posted December 20, 2021 We called at Falmouth on 4/23/09 during our first Princess cruise, a TA from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton on the Grand Princess. We did a ship tour to an estate/manor called Lanhydrock House. Our ship at anchor Countryside along the way Lanhydrock House Some of the gardens (complete with gardeners) 😱🤣 After the house, we went on to the village of Fowey where we did try the Cornish pasty 😋 An interesting thatched roof inn along the way back to the ship 25
