Which Caribbean ports are restricting or stopping docking?

So far, I have seen articles on:

Georgetown, Cayman Islands (our itinerary there was changed to Cozumel on the Divina Jan 30-Feb 6.) Seems they will only allow ships where Georgetown is the first port of call. Ours isn't

Aruba- I read today that a Carnival ship was not allowed to disembark.

Please add other news as it surfaces.

.it seems to depend on whether there are covid cases onboard.

Freedom and Odyssey both had cases, mostly among crew.

Yes, and that is -and will be- the case at Barbados too.

Every now and then a ship gets refused entry

due to one health problem or another, on board.

It happened during Swine Flu and other recent minor pandemics.

St. Lucia reportedly didn’t allow a RCI ship to dock. A day or so later it took longer than usual for Anthem to clear as additional documentation was required by St. Lucia. Then each passenger had to pass, one by one, through a portal and have their temperature taken.

I don't think you will be sure of getting to any port until the gangplank is placed.

That didn't work for the Koningsdam in Puerto Vallarta a few days ago.  Some passengers were allowed to debark, but then were held in the terminal until told to return to the ship.

We were just advised that our stop at Grand Cayman next month has been replaceed with a day at sea

IIRC, Grand Cayman had been due to reopen to cruises next week, but changed their mind with the advent of Omicron.

Adjust your expectations.  You will not know until it is announced.  Why invite disappointment.

Assume no port stops and very limited entertainment.

Then you will be pleasantly surprised if there is a port stop(s) or some on board entertainment.

I hope the cruise line will let us know as soon as they know so we can decide if we want to go or not. We are flying from the Uk to Florida for a Caribbean cruise (departing Jan 24th). We do not want to fly all that way to be stuck on the ship for 11 days!

The challenge is that the cruise line simply may not know until the day of or the day before.

If we were cruising in the Caribbean in January we would be assuming that some ports would be a last minute miss and that shipboard activities/entertainment may be curtailed.
