What you see above is what was sent to agencies for bookings on this cruise.

They have instituted a Lift and Shift for this situation only.  It's not a fleet-wide deal this time.  None of the previous L&S information applies here.

Thank you, I found the link on another post that took me to the letter sent out from Celebrity regarding the cancellation and it clearly indicates you can lift and shift. Since I booked through a travel agent I suppose I must call them instead of Celebrity.

April 24, 2022 Infinity sailing out of Barcelona has been taken off the Celebrity main site sometime in the past few hours.  We're on that sailing and have not yet received any email.

As has the 5/5 Sailing out of Ravenna (Venice).  It's been gone for a couple of days.  Only on Infinity sailing showing for May 5/24.

Okay, folks, don't complain about how Celebrity composes their letters. Rather, be thankful that we now know what is happening with the Infinity in Europe. Seems like some folks just want to find anything they can to continue negativity. I can go positive now. Got my ship, my itinerary, my date and I'm movin' on with a lift & shift. You can stay here and have a pity party if you wish. My TA takes good care of me, just as Celebrity does. Why, because I let them do their work without being a PITA.

I am disappointed in missing out twice on the April 24th Infinity itinerary. I'll catch up another time, on another ship, perhaps. In the meantime, I've got another good sailing - the lift & shift - coming in July. I'll see Infinity in February '23 in South America where we will do Antarctica together.

Time to move on, people.

Bless your heart.

I *kind of* get your point but you come across way too much as “I got mine.”

Celebrity’s email is the worst communication I’ve seen in a long time, and deserves to be discussed.

I also think that in this particular case the standard compensation for a COVID affected cruise (Lift & Shift or 100% refund of the amount paid) is not enough for a change that Celebrity decided to make to please itself.

I agree. The window for the lift and shift is way too narrow. For those of us on the tail end of the year, if that’s when you can travel, there’s nothing left.

Exactly.  I believe you - my husband said 'oh that can't be true' - I"m like NO - TRUST ME IT IS TRUE.

We had such a unique itinerary - just Spain/Portugal ports.  Anyone know quickly if there's another thing like it on the market?

Azamara does a nice Lisbon to Barcelona route with their smaller ships.  It's a different experience; no casino and more limited entertainment, but we like the food and onboard environment.  Some of their itineraries actually go up the river to Seville and dock in the center of town (as opposed to 70 miles away in Cadiz).

We've done this itinerary on Azamara and really enjoyed it--my husband signed up for the PerryGolf option and played some amazing courses on the trip.  The smaller ships and longer time in port create a different experience from Celebrity.

Well, if you complain maybe they'll take the Lift & Shift option away.  🙂

I was just looking at a few on Azamara’s site. We were originally booked with them for a med cruise until our daughter decided she wanted to take a cruise with us and Azamara was out of her reach. Since our cruise with her would be duplicating too many ports, we cancelled and booked our Spain and Portugal with Celebrity instead.

Do you happen to know how things have been going on their ships and if they’ve been having many cancellations like the other lines?

Ah, thank you.  I was thinking it would be the same cruise options for everyone but obviously that doesn't make any sense.  Our sailing was actually the Oct 31st... Lisbon to Barcelona.  Will be calling tomorrow and will report back!  Thanks again.

We have a similar itinerary, just 8 days, also in October.

I would not be able to call till the evening tomorrow, as I work in a hospital and unable to call during my work hours.

If you would get some info earlier tomorrow about what itineraries are offered - can you please post it here? I would really appreciate that. I assume our options are going to be similar to yours.

Maybe I will have a minute at work to at least look at the itineraries, so I can be somewhat prepared when I call them.

We can't switch to spring or summer, as my husband retires in September, and he doesn't have any vacation days left in 2022 anymore. So we have to book after he retires.

I always enjoyed all those additional fun entertainement on board. I wonder why many people avoid it especially when it is free of charge most of the time. I would enjoy it very much.

Small ships are much more convenient than those large floating cities. Its so nice and cozy inside, service is much better and people are much friendlier - well in my opinion at least. Cant wait to have a chance to cruise with them again

Maybe  if enough complain about the shoddy way we are being treated i.e. late notice, when we all knew something was afoot, but then adding insult to injury by  having to wait to see what’s left;  as Celebrity haven’t yet sorted that out yet. If  enough people decide to cancel altogether with Celebrity,  if this is how they do business and they eventually lose  enough custom and they may consider treating their guests with a modicum of professionalism in the future. At the moment all I can see are decisions being made on the hoof by some chinless wonder in Miami who decides arbitrarily to cancel the whole of the summer schedule for Infinity,  but fails to put into place before doing so a plan with what to do with the unfortunate  guests who are left scrabbling to get themselves a half decent stateroom with what’s left on the other sailings. That’s if Celebrity decide to let them know eventually what’s left. There are lots of other cruise companies.  Celebrity would do well to remember that.

How right you are - but nothing will change, I promise you. It's not the first time we have been thrown off an itinerary we were interested in and had booked but left with few options to choose from as an alternative.

In our case there goes my husband's birthday present in the form of ( I admit, for us !) the only decent and interesting itinerary of the season 2022 ( in the Med - we've been to all the places offered by the other ships numerous times, living in the area).

We'd certainly switch to another cruise line for an April cruise. But - there's a BUT to it - we are forced to stay with Celebrity as we still have a FCC to spend in 2022.

And the situation as it is and at the age group we are in we wouldn't want to shift to an itinerary in a country where the quarantine hotels are not as comfortable as we'd wish for.

Oh -  what a mess!

Yes I sympathise we are  unfortunately the same here. We chose this cruise for its lovely different itinerary. We had an anniversary dinner booked in Venice and a tapas tour booked in Barcelona. Looking for an alternative’s  now but Celebrity haven’t a clue and are unable to give us any details of alternatives offered. They are certainly not the company they were even ten years ago. We too have lots of onboard credit but seriously looking at other cruise companies and losing the credit, as I don’t want to give them any more of our money.

Our Jan 31 2020 Silhouette sailing was cancelled on May 2019 by Celebrity because of a change in the dry dock schedule.

Passengers were given a very small set of what essentially were Lift and Shift options. Our roll call complained to Celebrity and eventually they expanded the list to include other sailings that we could transfer our bookings to. True story and it is well chronicled in our roll call:

Received notice from TA but only option was refund.  Asking about lift and shift.  Anyone else get a lift and shift option from their TA.  Could see that refund is the best, but I wanted a cruise!   🙂

We got our lift and shift options. Only 3 on the other side of the Med ! Which we have done before ...!

We would have waited for next year to do the Spain and Portugal, and been satisfied. Because its such a unique itinerary. Problem is there is no Spain and Portugal cruises in 2023 !

The Azamara etc alternatives are way more expensive ....

Very Sad
