Azamara does a nice Lisbon to Barcelona route with their smaller ships.  It's a different experience; no casino and more limited entertainment, but we like the food and onboard environment.  Some of their itineraries actually go up the river to Seville and dock in the center of town (as opposed to 70 miles away in Cadiz).

That Azamara itinerary is one of our canceled cruises. Rebooked it and got kicked off for a charter. Hoping to go with Regent in June.

Could anyone please post the list with sailings offered in the lift and shift option, thanks.

If and when Lift and Shift sailings are offered for this cancelled cruise, it should appear on this page: link

On this website you can see a "Lift and Shift Suggestions" link for the recently cancelled Eclipse sailings.  No such link appears for Infinity yet.

We have a similar itinerary, just 8 days, also in October.

I would not be able to call till the evening tomorrow, as I work in a hospital and unable to call during my work hours.

If you would get some info earlier tomorrow about what itineraries are offered - can you please post it here? I would really appreciate that. I assume our options are going to be similar to yours.

Maybe I will have a minute at work to at least look at the itineraries, so I can be somewhat prepared when I call them.

We can't switch to spring or summer, as my husband retires in September, and he doesn't have any vacation days left in 2022 anymore. So we have to book after he retires.

Called again and they are still putting me on hold for 5 mins to come back and say 'we don't have any information on this yet'.  What is frustrating is that had I booked through a TA vs direct I'd have better service, when I know that booking direct to them is actually BETTER for them.  GRR.

I'll still keep you posted though if/when I finally get something else secured.

OK we know what is happening with Infinity.  But does anybody have any idea why it is happening?  Why cancel Europe and move her to the Caribbean?  Consolidation of costs?

I do t know but they sure have a lot of ships in the Caribbean

I don't know, but it may be that they expect more ports to be consistently open during summer in the Caribbean?  Europe is a hot spot, but it seems that the C ports are showing higher covid numbers one after the other as well.  One or more ships (if other lines follow suit) afloat in the C...will the ports be able to handle?

Haven't sailed since 2019, cruises cancelled one after the other OR I've been unwilling to board with the present virus situation...so....hopefully all will be somewhat better by this Nov.

I can only imagine 2 possibilities:

  • Lower demand for Europe sailings
  • Higher demand for summer Caribbean sailings

I doubt it's the latter.

Was told by Germany TA friend that expectations of continued restrictions re Covid and caution about Ukraine.   Energy in Europe will be be both expensive and in short supply if things blow up.  The press conference yesterday raised apprehension in Germany.  More questions than answers.

I have no opinion, but moved my 2020 Europe trip back yet again - to 2023.  Too many uncertanties

Several reasons...

COVID restrictions in general are much tighter in Europe than the Caribbean and Mexico. Still too much uncertainty lingers.

Europe has a ton of summer capacity.

Equinox was the lone Caribbean ship all summer.

Caribbean sailings are easier to sell on short notice to the large NA market.

Anyone else getting a text message from https://evb.gg/....   Is this legitimate?

Yes, that's from Everbridge which is a system used to send all sorts of mass notifications.

yes all possible factors but none of this is exclusive to Infinity over other European ships, cruise lines or itineraries.

I would bet lower overall demand in Europe for Celebrity sailings and a lot of excess capacity with Beyond, Apex, Edge and Reflection.  No need for Infinity there.

We got our lift and shift options. Only 3 on the other side of the Med ! Which we have done before ...!

We would have waited for next year to do the Spain and Portugal, and been satisfied. Because its such a unique itinerary. Problem is there is no Spain and Portugal cruises in 2023 !

The Azamara etc alternatives are way more expensive ....

Very Sad

We are on an Infinity sailing next year (April) and it visits Spain and Portugal. Excited about the overnight in Porto as we love the city.

Who is getting / seeing Lift and Shift options?  My travel agent gave me three trans atlantic cruises (around the same date).  But I'm not looking for a trans atlantic and I don't think those came from Celebrity.  So wondering how you are seeing Lift and Shift options?  Email, text message, phone call???

Your excitement is appreciated.  But it's how a lot of us felt, until our Infinity cruise was canceled.  So I would not assume that it will go ahead, at least, maybe not on the Infinity.

zitsky you are probably correct.  At this point I would only book one of the ships certain to remain in the fleet and guaranteed to sail (like one of the E-Class ships) or perhaps Reflection.

Felling pessimistic at the moment.  Want to book BEYOND but with my luck, it will get mothballed.  🤣

The L&S options are posted but they are presented by sail date so there are a ton of them (i.e. each Infinity sailing may not have the same L&S options available).

They are not posted yet.  TA don't have them yet either.  If you TA sent you something, it's because they reached out to X and got the list.  I called last night and it took close to 2 hours to wrap up my Lift and Shift.  They gave me 3 sailings around my Sept 17th sailing.  1 Edge, 1 Connie, 1 Reflection.

Edited to add that they are now posted on the TA site

They are posted now. You just need the sail date to see what is being offered. They are fairly generous IMO. For Sep 17th you have far more than 3 options:

Celebrity is not the only cruise line canceling summer cruises in Europe this year. Seems to be a problem all across the board.

Lift and shift options now listed here for Infinity.  Just got off the phone and ended up with an October 10 night Edge to  Italy/France w/Barcelona to replace our October 9 night Spain/Portugal - lost our itinerary for Spain/Portugual which was unique and our cabin location now kinda sucks because I had an oversized OV booking right when they opened this one.   However, 10 nights on Edge for the same price?  OK, I'll take it!  And we will still do a pre-stay in Madrid and Barcelona to salvage that part.

Wow run on sentences but I have to get to work, promised that I would update when I got through!  Thanks all and I hope that things work out for all that can.

I see that now.  They actually expanded the offerings since last night.  They only gave me 3 options but now there are about 10 options for my sailing.  I'm still happy with what I chose for my L&S.
