brainy blonde Posted February 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2022 It looks like the Volendam is on the move, headed to Cadiz. Would love any information if this means something. We sail in June for 35 days. Final payment is early March.

dawei Posted February 4, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2022 MAVIP--By any chance, do you know what kind of refurbishing is going to done to the Volendam? We were on her for the S. America Grand in 2020 and have booked her again for next Jan. Hopefully, that will take place. David
KAKcruiser Posted February 4, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2022 Why would the Volendam and Zaandam be going into drydock at the same time?

It is probably something very simple: it is time for their mandated drydocking. Being in "storage" for as long as they have been, an interior refreshment would likely be needed as well. Such a move is a very hopeful sign to me that these two fine ships will, indeed, be returned to HAL service.

According to an article in the latest issue of Cruise Industry News that I received a few days ago, the Volendam and the Zaandam are headed to a shipyard in Spain for drydocking. The article has a small, general list of the items that need to be accomplished for both during the drydockings.
