Upgrading at port

Is it possible to go to guest services on embarkation and request an upgrade?   I'm not expecting one for free, but wondering if it is a possibility to pay for an upgrade.    I was able to do this on Princess but never tried on Carnival.

Just got back from our Radiance cruise on Feb 5 th. Once onboard we went to guest services to ask for an upgrade. We were told no upgrades once on the ship (which was at 30% capacity). So I would try at the port itself before entering the ship.

I have asked on 2 different ships and was told no both times while on board. They do not allow any upgrades, even if you are willing to pay the answer was still no.

Keep an eye on your to do list in your planner. Upsell offers have been showing up there as the cruise date gets closer. Attempting to pay for an upgrade once on board has not been allowed according to many recent Carnival cruisers

They put a sign out "No Upgrades" because too many people read clickbait articles that tell people book a cheap cabin and once on board, you can get a cheap or free upgrade.

No, not on board and not at the port. My advice is book the room that you would be happy staying in for the length of the cruise.

Nowadays the port employees are contractors solely there to get you checked in and boarded.  They don't have the ability to assign, change, or upgrade room assignments.

^^^^^This. A true statement. I would not even attempt to try changing bookings when at port.

Nope, if people knew they could do that, why would they spend the money getting a better cabin from the start?
