Would there be any way a 19 year old would be allowed into club 02?

I'm going on a cruise from 3/12-3/20 and what I've noticed is that when you're a 18-20 year old who's not a partyer there really not much for you to do on a Carnival cruise. Both my younger brothers will also be in club 02 so I would also get to hang out with them more also. If not would you guys have any suggestions on what I'd be able to do around the ship especially on sea days?

You are correct that the 18-20 (really more like 18-25) are not heavily represented on the ships....until you get to the "honeymoon" age its lacking for sure.  However, they will definitely not allow you at 19 into the Club 02....the reason being one is for children and you are an adult...not meaning to sound snarky but for legal reasons they will not allow it.

That being said I doubt your brothers will spend too much time there and there is plenty of stuff for you to do with them at your age....there are movies, pools, waterslides, basketball court, mini putt, trivia/games, arcade, karaoke, shows (depending on specific boat but rollercoasters, ropes courses etc)....and there will be plenty to do together.  The only timeframe I could see being an issue is if they want to hang out there in the evenings.  Don't stress you will have a blast!

Absolutely not. I do wish they would add a young adult type club for the 18-20 crowd. My oldest will age out of the kids club in a few years also and that period between 18-21 can be a odd one when cruising and feeling like you don't really fit in anywhere or have an organized social spot like the kids club offers.

Our son went karaoke a lot. Also can attend trivia contests, theater shows, movies by pool, talk a parent into spa services 🤔after all you will not have a bar bill, two nights they had lido deck dance parties all ages, I have attached our embarkation day specials. Also collect spa entries- they are standing by spa and lido deck doors in first day. Fill them out and put in drawing bin in fitness area. Must be present to win and another family member cannot claim for another. We won $75.

Our two younger sons (now 22 and 26) sailed with us until 2018, and both went through "aging out" of Club O2. Neither drinks or gambles. They never had a problem finding things to do - for them, they met folks on the sports deck.

Our son is going to have this problem, first cruise in a few years, and he's 18 now. He's not much into the sports that might typically be a good way to meet other teens in this group. He is athletic, since he's a competitive swimmer. However, the cruise pool isn't really his scene much as he does like to take a break. LOL! So he's going to have to figure out meeting people in some way. We are doing it over spring break, so that may help him.

It really isn’t about age rather than personal interests.  It isn’t like once you hit a certain age, you become a partier… heck, I’d guess that most people who are heavily into it began drinking well before they turned 21.

The ship will have some variation of the hobbies you enjoy… unless you’re a hard core gamer.  And if you are, it’s a good place to develop a new hobby :).  I wouldn’t recommend the casino, however.

It's actually about legal liability.  Back in the day when our kids were teens, the staff would at their discretion allow a modest amount of 'age up', like a month or so, especially with siblings.  'Age down', especially past 18...... nope.

Exactly! I get why they do it for the 18 & older teens. We did see some wiggle room when it came to those other ages though. I forget what the cut off is, but we did see them allow a few of the 14 year olds join the older club when there was room and after talking with the kids. Or one cruise we went on, had a high school group, and there were like 3-4 kids who were still 14, but the rest were 15 & over, so they did allow it then. But I get the legal reasons for 18, my son is now an adult (even if he doesn't yet act like one! 🤣 )

Yes, I am hoping for a bit of wiggle room at the younger groups as I have an 11-year-old who will be traveling with a bunch of friends who are ALL 12-year old's.... he will only be 2 months off and is big and mature (for an 11-year-old) .... fingers crossed they bump him up.

What ship will you be on? That makes a big difference as far as suggestions.

Yes that we've seen too. Sometimes it depends on the numbers too. But the fact that he's also traveling with a group that will all be in that other group, that helps for sure. Just make sure you go on the first night. Hope it works out!

I'm hoping for the same for my daughter on our next cruise. This will be her first cruise and she will be a couple months shy of 15. Her cousin who has been cruising for a few years now will be with us and will turn 17 on the cruise. They want to be able to hang out together so we are hoping they will allow her in O2 with him.

My son is a hard core gamer and he had a blast still. He actually won some kind of gaming thing at the kids club and got a metal Carnival medallion type thing. Lots of room for socializing too. Win-win.
