Allure “LIVE” 3/5-3/13 - The allure of the Allure

Recommended Posts

Would someone on this cruise ask room service if it’s possible to order a small bottle of vodka 375ml for our room?

My DH doesn’t drink very much and

just wants a small bottle for the room, not the vodka/sprite package.

TIA

You can't order a bottle of vodka through room service but prior to the cruise you can order here:

Thank you for the reply.  This is the

vodka sprite package.  I thought someone said you could order just

the small bottle once OB?  We do that

with PCL all the time.

As far as I know this is the only way to order a bottle of liquor on a Royal Caribbean ship. If I am wrong I hope someone will correct me. There is a bottle shop on board but any purchases are held until departure from the ship.

There is still a lot of buildings boarded up from the hurricane from several years ago.

I think I remember reading/hearing somewhere that this building will be torn down and a new, upscale, boutique hotel will be built in it's place.  Obviously not much activity yet, assuming that my memory is correct.

I am not sure they have those restrictions, but some ports may have them.

Sky princess, which was docked next to us in St. Maarten was denied entry to St. Thomas the day before.

We haven’t heard anything about Covid onboard.  January on Oasis, we were always getting updates.

Our driver today in St Kitts said a ship was denied here today as well; I wonder if it was the Sky Princess again?
We spoke to several Sky Princess passengers yesterday on the beach in St Maarten and they said the ship had “multiple” symptomatic crew members.

When I was at St. Kiits on Allue in January Grandeur was denied. They tied up at the pier and left about an hour later.

This morning, we were scheduled to meet at Studio B for a Rainforest hike excursion.   There were many excursions with 7am meeting times.

Our plan was to go to WJ for a quick breakfast, since it was the only place scheduled to be open before 7.   We got there at the 6:30 opening time, and the wait line was already longer than a half hour.

Plan B was to grab a snack at Cafe Promenade and a coffee.  After our wait in line there, and eating on the run, we made our meet time with 1 minute to spare.

Royal should have had much earlier opening times today, with so many early tours.  A lot of people were complaining.

Well, we  got off and walked ashore to St. Kitts

Many of the tours left in these open air busses

You really are doing an exceptional job sharing your journey on this thread.

Cannot wait till May, till we sail the Allure again.

To think I will get more excited this Friday night into Saturday with the storm coming, as I wait for our cruise.

Oh, were getting snow, the guess at this time is 4-6 inches.

Be safe

Looking at the dock line and thinking you were brave to stand behind it.  Hoping the picture makes it look worse than it is.

I am glad we are staying in Florida after the cruise.  Hopefully it will be melted by the time we get home.

Some of these ducks are everywhere.  Found one earlier, and these two today.

Casino has not returned all our money yet.  Susan is down $25 and I am up $15, so by her logic, we only lost $10.  WE???

Karaoke and Family Comedy show tonight

And an oddity!   Tonight, the ship is changing to DST.  I guess this is so everyone gets adjusted to the time change before we get off the ship on Sunday.

We have our appointment with Next Cruise tomorrow to book another cruise or 4.  I may have to save one to book in May when we are back.

Went to check out the DL.  I really like the location on Allure, and I like the location on Indy. Not so much on some of the other ships.

I had to test out making a Carmel latte, using the DL latte machine and some Carmel we brought.

it worked perfectly. Will save me about $150  at Starbucks this week.

What does DL mean?  (I haven't cruised in 20+ years and honestly don't know!)  ty

Ok, time for a pro tip here.  Often, people do not realize there is an outlet behind the bed.  We move the phone down to the second shelf on the table, and put our charging tower on the top shelf.  That keeps the vanity outlets free.

Thanks for this tip!  We are sailing on the Allure in December.  Excited!
I'm glad you're posting here, as I'm learning a lot from your posts.
