Drink package-2 at a time

I didn’t have to do that.  I just told them over the phone that  I wanted one cocktail drink package, and one non-alcoholic package.  The rep had to put me on hold for a minute to get it approved.  No problems.

You were on the phone when you told them to do that, so you had called them.

Wow, I surely hope Royal Caribbean curbs the allowance of Pinnacle level guests in the suite lounge…you should have to pay to play.

Wow, you've never sailed Royal, and now you're an expert on Pinnacle behavior. SMH

And what does this have to do with this topic anyway🤔

Yes, two for the same person on a single DBP.

I do not know if there is a set time limit before you can re order.  I can tell you I have ordered beer and a shot, both on my UDP at the same time.  I don't know how they rung it up, but I never paid for anything.

I bet it was confusing ringing up a beer and a shot on the unlimited dining package 🙂

This will be the first time I’ve ordered the drink package.

it says I can only get one drink at a time. So it’s not possible for me to go to the bar and get a drink for myself and my wife? We would both need to go up at the same time?

It feels like there has to be a better way than that, especially since they require all adults in the room to get the package!

I always carry my wife's card and have never had a problem getting 2 drinks at once just having her card.

One time we had ordered a special "drink of the day".  Wife and I each took one sip and it was awful, so we gave them back.  The bartender said the system would not allow him to ring up another replacement drink for five minutes.

The poster seemed to get confused with the fact if he is getting two drinks on his card, it is not allowed, because you can only get one drink at a time.  If he wants it for his wife, he needs to bring her card also.  I always bring hers, and get two drinks.  It's a non issue, and does not even need to be discussed.

No need to be rude about it. I’m trying to be nice and get my wife a drink. I don’t always carry her card. Her folio is linked to mine so you’d think the computers would recognize two packages were purchased. Apparently that’s not the case.

The computer has no idea you are getting it for your wife.  You could be giving it to Billy by the pool, your friend Sally in the casino, whatever.

Be nice to the bartenders.  Bring her card.  I spent most of my drinking time in the solarium.  After the second day, the bartender knew me & my family AND our cabin #.  Less card flashing after that.

BTW when you ask a question, just because you don’t like the answers doesn’t make them rude.

How exactly was the response "rude," out of curiosity?

The issue is not in whether the accounts are linked.  The issue, as someone else pointed out, is that linkage is irrelevant.  The second drink on your card could be going to anyone, not just your wife.  You should probably just bring her card too.

You have to call Royal and say the other person(s) don’t drink

Just wanted to say thank you for the info.  I called and had no problem (albeit it took them 35 min) to do this.

For what it's worth though, I could also take her card and use it to give it a drink to Sally in the casino.

I apologize. It's been a morning. I was fighting with my bank about a fraudulent charge when I replied and the response of "It's a non issue, and does not even need to be discussed." rubbed me the wrong way.

And you could take your card & give the drink away too.  Under most circumstances, you need your wife’s card to get her a drink.  I’m sorry this is inconvenient for you but it is what it is.

And your card SHOWS you paid the large price.  Bars are understaffed and busy.  The easiest, fastest means of the bartender knowing you have packages appropriate to the drinks you are ordering is to have your card(s).  Is it really that much of an inconvenience?

Yes we had the deluxe package ... and I agree with poster saying it should show the we both had the drinks package. I was only commenting on the price you pay surely you can get more that one drink .... an inconvenience ... absolutely... I like to just sit and relax and enjoy without having to keep going to the bar whether for a soft drink or alcoholic drink ... it costs enough .. but hey it doesn't spoil our holiday .... but was just saying....

Certainly was on the phone.  What I meant was that I did not have to tell them my wife does not drink.  In fact, I told them she does drink, just not enough to justify getting her a beer/cocktail drink package.

That is a fair point but I’m guessing they set the one drink per card at a time to cut down on package sharing.  You’ll never stop it completely but they do try.  As I said, if you get to know a bartender, rules can be bent:

Yeah. I guess I was just hoping that I didn’t need to necessarily root around for her card and whatnot and could just be nice and grab us both drinks. Seems like the computers should recognize that two packages were purchased on an account so that’s two drinks.

Their issue, and I am sure some passengers would try it. You get two on your card, she is at another bar or just at the end of the one you are at and also orders two, then you take them to your two friends who did not buy the package. In all cases the actions of a few that always want to try and get away with something and scam the system causes everyone else to pay. When I ran a store before debit cards people would get so mad when we asked for id to take a check. They would tell me that the check was good and I should take it. My reply was also that we write off over $2 grand a month in bad checks and if I ask any of them if the check was bad they would guarentee it was good. So its always a few that end up making the honest ones pay.

Here's my experience and yours might vary.  I have no issue getting two drinks with two cards and the other person not being there.  I have also forgotten my DW's card a few times (granted after a few days using the same deck bar) and gotten her a drink without her card.  I have also gotten two drinks for myself at the same time on just my card.  No matter what they tell you the bartenders can override the computer.

And she could lose her package, without a refund if you get caught.  In fact they would probably revoke yours also.  I've seen people sharing and I also seen the bar tender take the time to walk over to them and politely but firmly tell them if the see it again they will lose their drink package.  The experienced ones see a lot more than you might think.

Did you book through a TA or through Royal?  I booked our cruise through a TA, so wondering if I can still call Royal about purchasing only one DBP and one non-alcoholic drink package.

I booked through a TA.  No problems calling in.  You have to get to a menu that says help with a drink package.  I don’t remember for sure but I think I started with “Help with Existing Reservation “
