I think one of The Dry-Dock options of operators is in Italy. So straight to Dry-Dock next day. John jumps on a couple of days later to say how fabulous it's going to be. Without water works & other Carnival Australia options that we are used to.. We will know in next 10 days.. At least I got Splendor for the First time in 32 days..

Pretty sure it is straight into Fincantieri in Trieste, Italy straight after the current cruise.

Yep correct. A couple of weeks ago I looked it up on the Costa website. From memory it finishes 3/4th September. JH is heading to Italy to do a tour on the 7th September and will post photos and videos on his FB.

Interesting he is doing a tour of Costa Luminosa. Why not Carnival Luminosa after dry dock?

Received an email from Carnival today regarding my rebooking from the Spirit to the Carnival Luminosa. They have allocated my cabin and it is on the same deck and two cabins down from the same position I booked on the Spirit, happy with that. Now to start working out what to spend my $1000 OBC they gave me as a sweetener for the swap.  As I read some where, you can only buy so many watches 😂  Not to worry shore excursions will eat up a good bit of that and my Wife & Daughter will make sure there will be none left.😉

Maybe both, or at least he places himself there, so that new features are promo'd by JH via photographers that remain in the shipyard throughout.

Well, my assumptions were off a bit. Luminosa completed her last cruise yesterday, but has nt remained in Trieste.

She is currently transiting to Palermo, Italy, likely to FIncantieri shipyard.

Yeah I read (maybe via JH) that it was going to be Fincantieri. He is going to report on Thursday and Friday from there, so maybe Friday / Saturday our time.

Handover from Costa to Carnival has just taken place. Look at JH page.

Strange timing, as anything ceremonial usually coincides with the new letters going onto the ship. I guess they are in a hurry though. I believe there are both Costa & Carnival crew aboard doing much of that handover behind the scenes.

Has anyone seen any good deals in their inbox for the early cruises on Luminosa? I have received an offer I can't refuse for the first month of cruises, but I might have to because Barb will struggle to have enough leave.

Curious if anyone booked on the first one on 6th November.

I WANT THESE DEALSSSSSSS. Whawwwwwwww. I am a devoted cruiser (25 cruises) and I love Carnival. PLEASE Carnival I want these deals.

Some are casino deals, based on past casino points. I don't know if that is one of those.

Mine are different, and for each cruise during the first month. I know they aren't transferable, not even to our daughter who has cruised Carnival more than us. It pretty much looks like an Ocean suite for the price of an inside on any of the first 5 cruises. The above cruise on my offer is $1300pp, but it is for an Ocean suite. That would count as a serious upgrade. Not sure which list we are on, as these don't usually point our way.

- Maybe as we have 2 x ocean suite bookings in place already for Splendor

- Maybe due to the transpacific having 0 VIFP red cards aboard, and they want to encourage red cards

- Maybe, dunno 😂

At this point, I can't fit any of them in and am waiting to see if the deal is extended to cruising solo and what % of supplement.

If they want to fill their ships, why not offer no single supplement specials after final payment.

I was just looking deeper at one of those, and the single supplement is less than usual. I do have access to the discounts on all cabins, but as we have been booking suites, out T/A emailed the suite prices.

2 people in a balcony cabin for 7 nights on 6th November from $830, 1 person from $625, so it looks like single supplement is 150%. That is still pretty good, as I would be locking out a cabin and still have a steward spending equal time in the cabin.

JH is flying in a couple of hours to report on it tomorrow-ish.

Lock him in the brig to force him to come down and do a few cruises here. Hey JH, I know you or one of your spies is reading this. Come down for a few cruises - FFS!! 😁

He might just be doing some cruises down under, so I read.

We are booked for the transpacific with our kids. It was a really good deal for us and just a flight there (we are driving distance to Seattle). Lots of sea days and the likelihood of few other kids on board were our hesitation but we’re going for it.

Im anxious to see it after dry dock as we are used to waterslides and guys burgers and blue iguana.

After no cruises in 5 years (first due to building a house and then Covid cancelations) we will take almost anything! But first Horizon in November.
