eabplus2 Posted June 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Hello. There are a group of us going on the Allure on July 9th. Our friends are coming in on Amtrack which leaves NY on the 6th. Where can they get a Covid test near Port Everglades? Thanks in advance

Ashland Posted June 16, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Do a proctored test either on the train or better yet at their hotel.

Sunshine3601 Posted June 16, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Or see if Walgreens on 17th st causeway, right down the road from cruise terminal is offering rapid naat test. The only problem is they must use the drive thru via car, no walk up to window. Proctored test or the lab doctor are probably best choices. eabplus2 Posted June 16, 2022 Author #7 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Yes they will have no car and there will be 6 of them. We are flying down on the 8th so I can schedule our tests on the 7th at a local Walgreens. Does Lab Doctor do the NAAT test? Do they get results right away? Pcr picks up covid that antigen may miss. Lab Doctors is half way between the train station and the port. Uber to lab doctors and then Uber again to the port. motheroftwocats814 Posted June 17, 2022 #9 Share Posted June 17, 2022 Why not order some of the proctored ones from EMED? Tests can be done in the hotel room.
Rare Ozark_Kid Posted June 17, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 17, 2022 I would think a proctored test would be less stressful than trying to test away from home. They are easy to use.

It cuts in and out a lot. We've taken the Auto Train VA to FL and back 8 times and the Amtrak NE corridor to NY many times. Internet is not stable. Between DC and NY, there are tunnels and holes and between DC and FL, there are holes and I would never count on the wifi onboard. We just did proctored eMed test at our hotel and printed them out couldn't have been easier.

No business center ?...I don't believe we've ever stayed in a hotel that didn't....Then ask at the front desk or at least where you might find one to use. Best of luck !!
