When were you previously there?

We have been there six times since the restart, but the last time we got off was pre shutdown when a lot of construction was going on to build out all of the new buildings.

I think, a term I use even more after my 2021 concussion, that the updated paths were there when I was last there in 2015, or they were just starting them.  Have to look back at my pics.  Nope, I didn't catch any photos, but this wall and the big LABADEE words were new then.

Juice it up with what? Another water park? No thanks.

No, not a waterpark. I'd just like to see everything about it improved. The beach chairs are old, cheap and uncomfortable.  Many of the swimming areas could stand to be cleaned up.  The beaches are so so.  The food service areas are small and crowded.

I definitely don't need a waterpark (after all the one at CocoCay is a once and done for me as the lines are way too long and way too slow).

But maybe a nice lagoon pool?

Not to devalue your post, but when was the last time you were there? Someone did post updated pics of the beach chairs.  I know what you mean about the food areas, I'll be sure to post another Blue Collar review after my mid Sept visit. At least, as far as I can see, we are the only ship there that day (Mariner)

We were in Labadee in June and everything was perfect. The chaises were new, umbrellas were freshly installed, Nellie's beach was beautiful and clean, the buffet next to it was fine, I mean - everything was great.

We are looking forward to our visit to Labadee in Jan. we have been several times but not since they put in the pier, long time ago. As I recall the beaches were nice but I remember a lot of locals trying to sell stuff. I'm sure it will look different now.

The food spread on CocoCay is far superior to Labadee.  There is room for improvement at Labadee without going full on theme park like PDCC.

But...  PDCC is a money printing machine.  Last weekend everything was sold out at PDCC except for the zip line.  PDCC has outperformed their wildest expectations.  It is inevitable that they will attempt to duplicate that success at other private destinations and number one on that list is Labadee.

HI: I am in awe of your photos. Can't believe Labadee now. We were last there maybe 2013 or 2014.

Will be back in Dec. Thank you for posting excellent pictures.

You may be right, but the political stability of Haiti may cause RCI to perhaps not put a lot more money in there. (total assumption on my part)

Has Haiti ever been politically stable?

So weird seeing the ship on this side of the pier.

We were on the same cruise.  They did a life boat drill in the late morning/early afternoon.  I figured that explained the starboard docking.  BUT, every port we docked to starboard (PC being the exception).

We are going to Labadee next week.

I see that there is a floating Aqua Park and water slide. Both of them charge a fee. I am curious if there is a time limit on either of them.

Any input is appreciated.

As said, the Aqua Park is one hour (actually comes out to about 50-55 minutes).  I *THINK* you can purchase an all day pass for the water slide, but I'm not sure.

I'll watch for replies to this one, thanks for asking.  The last time I was in Labadee and didn't get a cabana the locals kept all the chairs in a pile and you had to ask for them and they expect a tip. I'm guessing with post covid procedures  they are trying to minimize that contact wherever possible.  I'll be curious if they do like some ball parks use to and escort you to a chair(s), do a slight wiping of the seat and then hold their hands out 🙂

There were plenty of chairs (under umbrellas) set out when we were there last week.

I actually used to enjoy Labadee- one of our favorite ports.  However, we prefer cococay.  So much nicer- more to do for all ages.  The Beach club is wonderful.

Now the cabanas in Labadee (also Coco Cay) are so overpriced.  We will not get one on our next trip.  Would pay half of what they are asking.

We did get a Beach Bungalow at Columbus Cove and I think it was ~$300, not quite as big as a cabana, but the same amenities.  That's fairly reasonable.

I walked from Columbus Cove to Adrenalin Point(?) and my watch said it was .6 mile.

Additional question as we get closer to our visit.   Last time we had a cabana at Nellies beach.   I know Barefoot beach was for suite guests and Pinnacle members. For this cruise we booked a SUITE GUARANTEE and were just assigned a JS -  Can JS passengers take root on Barefoot beach?

Unfortunately, no. Grand suites and up. Unless you purchase a cabana on Barefoot Beach.
