I already have to get up to pee three times at night, I can't imagine how many times I would be getting up listening to the sound of a waterfall all night🥴

That is just way to funny. I doesn't sound like running water just so you know, just like a roar.

This is not intended to be a wise guy comment:  I stay up until I go to bed.  No, really!  I stay up as long as I have something to do, as long as I'm being entertained, as long as it's fun.  I don't need sleep, at least not much.  I love sleep, I just don't need it.

we are sailing on the Grandeur of the Seas 15 August, and generally stay up till 0100.

We stay up to 2AM and get up at 6 AM

We like going to the casino after the evening show and get to the Fitness Center as early as possible.

So for the past 20 years, every cruise I say, "This time we're gonna stay up and hoot with the owls."  And every cruise we end up packin it in around 9:30!  It's hilarious.  I've only stayed up past that time maybe 3 or 4 times on all our cruises.  Walking all day long and greeting the sunrise every day, climbing or going down stairs and then running all over a port is exhausting.  Especially to someone 72 yrs old!  Our normal bedtimes at home are 9:00 pm and up at 5:00 am and neither of us have a real job!  I'm fully retired and hubs works from home and now delivers packages for Amazon for cruise money! LOL  Anyway, I"m sure next month we'll profess our new resolution to "stay up with the owls" and end up falling asleep in our cups as usual.

Before each cruise, I tell myself that I am going to stay up later to experience the night life on board. As of yet, I haven't been able to stay up later than 10pm. Guess I'll never know what happens after that.😏

I'm with you on that Sal, that's why I never made it up to the Trellis Bar last cruise...how are you guys?

I have never gone to bed on a cruise earlier than 1 AM .

When I was working I set the alarm clock for 5:30 AM but went to sleep 1AM.

Now,as a retiree I go to sleep at midnight and get up at 7 AM when not cruising.

My hat is off to ya!  I could never!  We live on a mountain in Arkansas and the sun peaks up around 5:30, so we cannot sleep later than that and more often we get up a little before it, but we love to watch it with our espresso!  Below is mist over Rhea Valley below us.  Paradise!

I hear ya.  I'm 3 months away from being 71 and I do my best to stay in shape and alert.  Among other things, I walk/run (mostly walk, LOL) 3.5 miles a day.  I travel to places to fly my drone and we shop a lot, we don't buy much but we look a lot.  Too bad, it's getting too dangerous to shop malls anymore.  I won't subject my wife to it.  This is not intended to be a political debate, just a matter of fact.  On a cruise, we spend a lot of time in the Promenade shops, but not looking in the cruise line's jewelry stores.

I knew what you meant, Lenny.  Like you, I'd try to get as much out of a cruise as possible. Stay up late & get up, ear...., well, at a reasonable hour. Of course, the reasonable hour got later & later as the cruise went on. Funny, never went to bed any earlier.

Love your attitude and zest for life, which you obviously have not lost. Certain people can learn a lesson from you. 👍

Thanks,H.In 2015 one of my doctors believed that I might have Leukemia. He sent me to a Hematologist/Oncologist for a Bone Marrow Biopsy, the most painful procedure I ever had. He also took 15 vials of blood. The results were neither positive nor negative.I was on the border line and had repeat blood work every 3 months. In December 2020 I was fine. The same year I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s My wife is an RN and along with my wonderful doctors have kept me alive.I have a very close relationship with my children and my son -in-laws who are more like sons to me.I am very blessed.

Haha! Yep, I get it! Tom and I are doing ok. He just had a long stent placed in his heart due to 2 blocked arteries, one of which was 95% blocked (widow maker)! He just started some heart rehab therapy but says he feels a lot better.

I'm dealing with a darn UTI, along with my usual weight issues, which has lead to not being able to walk very far or stand very long. I know, motion is lotion, but, that's pretty hard to do when pain is involved. No worries though cause I won't ever give up; one day at a time; one step at a time.

We both still enjoy our cruises, even if we don't get off the ship as much! Been there, done that anyway! We enjoy those port days when most get off and we have the pools/hot tubs to ourselves! Hope we get to see you on another cruise! BTW, I love that picture of your view at home!! Absolutely beautiful!! Take care cruise buddy!! Sal

You should try training yourself to stay up later. At home go to bed a half hour later and try and get up to the time you want to be up until on the cruise. Maybe napping during the day on a cruise will help too. There is so much to do after 9pm that I can't believe that people actually go to bed that early lol. Many of the shows don't even start until 9 or 10 and even the Quest never started until about midnight.
