On board coral Princess now

Recommended Posts

How is the buffet for breakfast and lunch?

I will be on board in a couple of weeks and it’s all sounding a bit depressing from these posts.

I will book specialty dining on the app tomorrow to make sure we don’t miss out. I might book each restaurant twice. Just in case.

The buffet looks very sad compared to royal Caribbean. But the food is actually  very tasty and served very hot. They have someone cooking fresh waffles to order. I am an early  morning  person and the buffet is open earlier than the dining room. I have had it 3 times for breakfast  so far. To be honest the dining room breakfast has been  the worst dishes I've had so far. The French toast was just deep fried bread that hadn't really  been dipped in the egg. Looked good, tasted like the fryer.

The lunch is good also. I eat there for Port days. It just looks like such a minimal set-up.

I have my umbrella and  coat ready

I don't think you need your brolly. Just a typical morning coastal shower, and the cloud usually burns off when the sun comes up. Much cooler than Brissie for sure, but should be nice enough.

Apart from a cancellation or maybe a hold on some tables for suites, both specialty restaurants were booked out prior to boarding.

Re the speciality restaurants being booked out prior to cruise, have you heard whether cruisers with complimentary speciality dining are having trouble getting a booking once on board. I understand that you can't book these complimentary speciality dining until you are on board (unless it is the Suite first night perk). It would be a shame to miss out on the promo inclusion because of no availability.

Looks like a great thread to be on. On our way to the terminal in an hour.

Been a while since we have had drinks packages. We aren't planning on being Friday night drunks, but I can't promise anything. Those Milky Way Martinis are dangerous.

A final check, and once again a complimentary upgrade has slipped us by. We will get our first someday.

CRUISE DAY!

Definitely tried Milky Way Martini - along with many others. The beverage menu is very good, there is lots of variety. Medallion ordering works well most of the time, but plenty of bar staff taking orders the old fashioned way too.

happy cruising everyone!

With regards to the food - can’t comment on buffet, however we have dined in MDR both nights. We are a total of 10 travelling together and we have all enjoyed the food. There is plenty of variety to choose from. No-one has been disappointed with their meals.

I have a small fold up one that fits in my hand bag. The weather won't bother me.

I had the smoked salmon with bagel and the English breakfast this morning. I'm stuffed

We are going to walk off some food today. If I add last night's drinks, I might need to run a marathon. 😁

We have a complimentary specialty restaurant on Majestic later in the year. I am pretty sure I could pre-book on the app for any night, and it asks if you want to use your voucher.

I am logged onto this voyage, so not able to check atm.  You can go in and have a look, and back out before confirming.

With regards to the speciality  restaurants.

On the previous cruise a few people were  complaining  that they couldn't  get a booking at the steakhouse at all. Apparently they are  only doing 200 covers a night.

I plan on doing it once on the last cruise. Just for something different. I haven't made a booking. I was hoping mum would  get a complimentary  one thru the casino.

On that menu I always go for the pork chop, but I have been tempted by the lamb shanks. There is always the fall-back option of chicken breast. I don't know why a person couldn't find something to appeal on that menu. I have found that every dish is well presented and very tasty.

In the past, the only menu items I didn't like was some of Curtis Stone's specialty dishes although his chicken and leek pie was quite good. These items seem to have disappeared from the menu and I have to say "good riddance"!

That is interesting to read, as both Bayou and Sabatini's certainly weren't anywhere near full when we were on last week. Maybe the restriction in numbers is to spread out tables/diners more.

I agree. It looked half empty every time I passed by.
