Hi, if we need to cancel a cruise last minute. No insurance purchased as this was a casino cruise... would the have it all package that was added after the cruise was booked be refunded? I asked in the chat on the HAL website and was told no but that didn't sound right. Anyone have any info? Thanks

I went to one of my future cruises and reviewed the add on HIA package. I could not find a clause about cancellation whatsoever.  I then put it in my cart and again checked the terms and conditions and could not find any cancellation policy whatsoever.   Somebody in legal didn’t do their work.

and here is the part I don’t want to say out loud - the deal they are offering me says $45 a day but once in cart it is $11 per day.   Now I am in a quandary.   If I buy it now and it is not cancellable I certainly don’t want to pony up the extra money later.  What would I get?

Ok, I did a little more digging.  I searched “Holland America Have it all” and on this page I found that it is not refundable.

https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/deals/have-it-all/have-it-all-upgrade.html

I would still argue this as that non refundable policy does not appear in cart at time of purchase

That makes sense since if you buy HAL’s insurance and add on the HIA, the insurance price increases accordingly.

My agent and I talked about the really good deal I mentioned above.  It seems that because of the big sale they discounted the HIA on past bookings.  Check you bookings, check your math but our booking (35 days) did not go down in price as we have the coveted aft balcony.  We will have to pay our own gratuities but we are only paying $11 a day for both of us for HIA.  Agent says if they don’t honor that price I will be refunded but in her experience HAL honors whatever they have on their website .

I will post this information in the other thread as well.

Went to my account at HAL.  Thought I would see what the cost would be to add HIA to my trip.

Feeling foolish as I can't find where to get that information.  Also don't see how to put something in my cart.  It appears I can only choose "buy now".  Help?

Well, I did log in and went to my booking.  I am offered Shore Excursions, Cruise Adventures, Travel Planning.  Under each one are many choices but HIA is not one of them.  I also get a box that says "buy now" but no choice to put in my cart.

What might I be doing wrong?

Did you press "Manage My Booking?"  When you do, it should say Itinerary, Shore Excursions, etc across the top.  Then if you go down a little, it should say Have It All.  Then you can push "details."  When you push "buy now" it puts it in the cart but you can cancel at that point.

Bumping up as I hope someone can answer my questions.

Thanks in advance!

If you choose  “buy now” whatever you want to buy should go into your cart.  Then you decide if you really want to buy it.  You may need to call  someone at HAL or your TA to walk you through the process!

Is this a casino cruise?  If so, may not be eligible.  Although added to my cruise earlier this month on Nieuw Statendam it is no longer an option on my upcoming 16 day TA that is a complimentary casino cruise.  I believe this is a recent change as it was available for purchase previously.
