Millenium Suite - Luminae/Main Dining Room Question

We are in a suite on Millenium in August and will have Luminae privileges, but will also book specialty a couple of nights.  We would also like to try the main dining room once or twice.  Are suite guests expected to dine in Luminae and not eat in Main Dining room?  Does main dining room use set dinner times or is it open dining?

In addition to all other restaurant menus the Retreat Lounge will have copies of the MDR menu.  If there is an item on the MDR you wish to order it will not be an issue to order that item in Luminae.  And while I have few issues with the actual food in the MDR, it is very noisy and rather crowded.  We stay in Luminae. Much calmer and more quiet.

As a suite guest, if you wish to dine in the MDR (or Blu for that matter) you can.  Some say proper protocol is to tell the Luminae Maitre'D and have them arrange it.

That said,  as others have stated on M/S class ships you can order off the MDR menu in Luminae.  If you ask they will gladly hand you the menu.

On our most recent M class cruise we did lunch in the MDR one day and my opinion echoes the others,  service is much better in Luminae.

All great information.  I was not aware we could also eat in Blu.  Thank you.

Recent policy change is only the upper suites with complementary specialty dining included are now welcome to eat in Blu space available.   This was explained to us on Equinox in September.

Luminae is quieter than MDR and the service is generally outstanding!  However, I am not a fan of the Luminae menus (and X is well aware of this) BUT you can order from other menus or food venues.

Here’s an option for the booking of your specialty restaurants.

If you could eat in Luminae the first day for lunch and dinner, it will give the serving staff a good way to begin to learn your dining preferences. If you dine in specialty restaurants early in your itinerary, the staff may have to play “catch up” in this process. Don’t worry…the service is very good in both instances.

The downside of this option, is, perhaps, not taking advantage of 1st night discounts on specialty restaurants.

Either way, have a look at the Luminae and Main Dining Room menus for your sailing, on the Celebrity app. If there is a day (or days) when the choices are not overly exciting, perhaps a specialty restaurant will work.

Just an option.

What level of cabin did you have booked in September on the Equinox?
