jwlane Posted February 1, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2023 We used https://www.civitavecchiashuttleexpress.com/about-us.html, but other options are as @Ex-Airbalancer noted.
cw2go Posted February 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2023 I've used RIL for both transfers and tours. https://www.romeinlimo.com/transfers/ 1
Rare mahdnc Posted February 1, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2023 In October we used Stefano's RomeCabs to transport 5 of us and our luggage from our hotel near the Pantheon to the Civitavecchia pier. Split 5 ways, it cost us 32 Euros each. Getting picked up in front of the Albergo del Senato hotel, Oct 22 2022 2
Orator Posted February 1, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2023 Used Rome limos, Civitavecchia cab company. The cheapest way is the train, but there have been robberies reported. Civitavecchia cab company is a shared ride so less than a private limo. Been a while since I took them so you'll need to check prices.
Rare Fly and Sail Posted February 1, 2023 #7 Share Posted February 1, 2023 A private car will usually be ~ 130 EUR. I used Rome Airporter and was happy with their service.
Rare Lena11033 Posted February 1, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2023 I paid about 140 Euros one way for Rome Cabs in the summer, went from outside my hotel right into the port for drop of (so no port shuttle)
all2me Posted February 1, 2023 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2023 Just the opposite. Disembarking cruise ship into Rome. Even better to our Rome hotel. There are 11 of us so adds to cost. Trying to keep cost down. Should we check into Celebrity transport? Even getting us to airport…we can train into city if necessary.

Again there is a forum on Italy ports that gives hundreds of suggestions. FWIW we used the train.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 2, 2023 #11 Share Posted February 2, 2023 I have also used Stefano's RomeCabs for about 10 years and find them excellent and always early
DebbieActon Posted February 2, 2023 #12 Share Posted February 2, 2023 If you can manage your luggage, they have made the train very simple. We did it in October and it was about 10 Euro each (including the train and bus direct to terminal).
Rare Jim_Iain Posted February 2, 2023 #13 Share Posted February 2, 2023 We also took the train once but in the opposite direction. We booked a Eurorail ticket to use after a cruise. The train station is very convenient with a free shuttle to a lot closer to town and then you pay something like 1-2€ and drops you right at the train station. The Train was quick to Rome and then connect with a high speed train to Venice. The only possible difficult part is in Civitavecchia elevators are limited and often broken and you may need to carry your lugged down a flight of stairs under the tracks and then up again to the departure tack. Northern Aurora Posted February 2, 2023 #15 Share Posted February 2, 2023 The last time we flew into Rome and took a ship out of Civitavecchia was in October 2019. Our hotel concierge set up the private transfer and we were very happy.
Rare trinitygirl Posted February 2, 2023 #16 Share Posted February 2, 2023 I advertised on my roll call and we found 6 people travelling to the port and have split the cost of a private van - less than 30 euros each, which is way better than the cost I was looking at travelling alone. So, if that is something you are interested in, your roll call may be the way to go.
Eagle329 Posted February 2, 2023 #17 Share Posted February 2, 2023 Last July we used Stefanos RomeCabs. They were very reliable, very nice car and driver. Picked us up right outside the ship and transported us door to door to our hotel in Rome.
