Is this really a new benefit for Elite?

Yes, or high pressure sales.

I received a call last week, didn’t notice it, because it went to my call filter as spam. It shows as a Princess phone number, but it also is shown online as a robo caller.

But, Princess probably does have robo callers for upcoming cruises.

ughhh

Exactly

I am pretty sure CVPs do not share credits with TAs, at any rate they didn't prior to shutdown,  so highlighted portion has me believing it's a scam

So, they should not try to steal TA clients, since they know that the client has a TA.

Does anyone remember the Data breach May 2019 at PCL and HAL?  I always wonder if anyone was affected.

Does a CVP randomlybreachnout to people who never book directly with princess??? I've done about 100 cruises with princess and always have booked independently with my eleosinal agent. I found it odd they reach out, and they saw that have like 8 upcoming cruises, sonits not like I'm a one and done passenger, as I'm clearly loyal.

That seems really odd.  Ask your TA.

My robo call was from a 888 number.

Except I do NOT think this call is from a CVP. Neither CVP (retired or current) ever cold called me. The only calls I've ever gotten were to return my call or contact me about one I've got on hold

We also got a call today.  I told him I wanted to look at the website.  He is supposed to call back pretty soon.  I'm going to tell him we aren't interested.  Yes...he had access to all of our cruise info...how many, when the first one was, what type of cabins we booked, our upcoming cruises, etc.

Wasn't there a thread way back when when a CVP (PCP?) person sold on the side....EZ Air or a hotel that was not connected to Princess Hotel picks?  They sold a hotel room to a passenger he was working with (on the side)?

Agree that the offer does not sound right (too good to be true and you have to pay right now ).

It is concerning that they have your cruise history and information.

It is to me also.  That is a privacy issue.

That’s why the Princess privacy dept should be notified.

They need to stop this cold calling to guests and sales pressure.
Everyone should report this that gets a call, so we can get it investigated.

He called me back a few minutes ago.  His name is Adam and he is in England.  I told him politely that it wasn't a good fit for us right now and thanked him for his call.  He thanked me too and didn't try to pressure me at all.

They kept saying once you give the deposit they will immediately send over an email to go over all of the benefits. Honestly if it's not a scam they shouldn't hesitate to send over all this prior to payment. And the fact they needed money today and decline to give you time such as a few days to think about it seemed odd. Kinda felt like a car sale.

Says it right there——Never give out deposits etc without reading the fine print.  If it is not a scam- it should be considered one! I do not think this promotion is from a PVP.

Yes, this PVP, latched onto me when I did have a TA.  As I have said the Princess Vacation Planner has never done any bookings at my request.  She saw that I made a new booking, next day she booked same cruise again and left me a phone message to give her the booking and cancel the online one.

I should report this .  I try not to pick up Princess calls anymore and let the calls get recorded.

So I did an experiment, not sure if it was coincidental or not, but I had my phone powered off for a while, knowing what time this guy was calling back. I'm talking about an hour Prior and after to the time he said he would call back.

As soon aa I powered my phone back on, I kidd you not, he called the moment my phone powered on. I ignored it and he called back 3 times in a row 🤔 Whats the odds of that happening like that.

Ha!  Sounds like my unwanted PVP. 3 calls, then an email!

Ok, I reported this to the email address that you provided.  The only reason that I answered the phone was because my phone said it was Princess and we are going on a cruise next month.  When we cruised in Dec. we had gotten a call from Princess to attend the 360 dinner.  Didn't answer that time, but they did invite us again when we got on board.

Got to be a scan. I would expect anything like this to come from my CVP. What name showed on your phone when the call came in ?

No name just the phone number showed up along with stating its a call from Arizona. Normally T-Mobile's fantastic about announcing it's a scam likely call.

Since my longtime PVP had retired, I requested a new one.  I received an e-mail pertaining to be from a Princess CVP advising me that he was my new CVP.  When I spoke with him about an issue I was having doing an online booking, he advised that he could not override the guarantee only stateroom selections.  Then he went into the spiel about a Balcony Package that cost $5999 and listed all the benefits of the package.  I declined, but found out he is a legit PVP/TA but is also trying to sell these "bonus" packages from Princess Promotions.  I usually book online with no help from a PVP, CVP, or Princess rep.

So, it may very well be CVP’s and Princess Promotions cold calling to offer these so called deals.  They seem to be coming from different areas, so hard to pinpoint.

The fact that they won’t put the offer in writing, is suspicious.  Also, can be traced.

Has anyone asked, who they work for?  Specially, asked if they are a CVP, a third party affiliate or with Princess Promotions?  Who gave them authority to cold call guests?  They have to be some type of travel agency or CVP, to have access to our records.

But not so much with protecting my information from being hacked. 😕

Website looks legitimate.  Domain registered in NY,  purchased by individual/company in France.

Registered Travel Agent in the US, sales only for residents in the US and cold sales calls from the UK.

Right to cancel 30 days for FLA. residents and 7 days for other states.

However, it is a third party, separate company from Princess according to the terms and conditions.  So, that was not the truth of the person you spoke with.  However, unless that person was also a PCL employee?  But, they are selling a third party product.

I never book with cold calls, won’t work for me.

Has anyone else received a call from Princess offering this new benefit for elite passengers:

Commit and pay (either immediately, or over a year) for a mini suite $7499 total for 2

You receive: $6000 in future cruise credits that can be used to pay for this cruise or another:

7 night stay for 2 at a resort

2 nights stay at a hotel (2 times)

750 promo points towards discounts on merchandise

$300 OBC

All has to be used within 18 months

I normally don't answer the phone, but since my phone said Princess I did.    You are probably thinking like I am that this is a scam.  He did know how many cruise days I had on Princess, and when and where my last cruise was.   I didn't book it as I don't trust phone calls like this.    If he had offered something in writing from Princess I might have considered it.  He gave me a phone number to call if I change my mind, and it is the Princess Cruise Planners number.

I got the call too.  Thought it was a scam and I told the caller that I was very suspicious. He gave me a call back number and I told his that even if legit, I would not be purchasing today especially during a "cold call"   He knew all about our passed cruises and even our last two cruises.
So what do we know about this and what does Princess say about it?
