davecttr Posted February 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2023 Just asking, what are the current rules for cruising from Southampton to Europe. When I flew to Spain last autumn my passport was stamped at the airport. Do they stamp your passport at the first disembarkation port, in this case Hamburg. No one has asked to see my passport yet on our recent cruise out of Southampton, in an overseas port. That was Canaries last November and Hamburg in January. As you say, was checked and stamped in and out of Malaga last September when we flew out for our annual golf holiday. Cathygh Posted February 10, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2023 I think that if your passport is stamped on entry to the EU, it has to be stamped on exit, this is due to the 90 day rule which I think means you can only spend 90 days out of 180 in the EU. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Fionboard Posted February 10, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2023 Did numerous cruises last year and never asked to show passport. Most ports you are not even asked to take passport ashore ( although I always have a copy of it - just in case!).

Snow Hill Posted February 10, 2023 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2023 ETIAS is due for launching November as said above, with EES (Entry Exit System) for launch but end of 2023. ETIAS is a visa waiver system, not a Visa system, similar to US system.
