Rare asnaleah Posted March 5, 2023 Author #76 Share Posted March 5, 2023 I have learned this about myself on this cruise - I am not a jungle girl! It’s very beautiful in Brazil, but the humidity, bugs and sporadic thunderstorms are not for me. I do hope this latest cloudburst doesn’t impact White Night, but I fear it may have to move inside. Ready for Rio tomorrow. Here are some buffet photos. More from Prime C later. Always lots of fresh salad items, great fruits, and desserts that taste as good as they look! Very nice choices at the carving station- today was boneless leg of lamb. Very tasty. 5
Rare asnaleah Posted March 5, 2023 Author #77 Share Posted March 5, 2023 I was asked about the provided toiletries. They are still in small bottles which I prefer, but I do understand the need to reduce plastic waste.

takemewithyou Posted March 6, 2023 #79 Share Posted March 6, 2023 I would be interested to hear your perceptions on the Pursuit itself. Are you enjoying all the public areas of the ship? The entertainment? Who is the Cruise director? And can you provide info on the other ship officers? Are there any Atlas bar drinks being served in the Den? Have you been to Discoveries Restaurant? How are you finding the food there?

We had them on both the Journey and Quest last August. I would imagine that many if not all of the officers will be different every few months. Rare asnaleah Posted March 6, 2023 Author #81 Share Posted March 6, 2023 Current ships officers, etc. The officers are very visible throughout the ship and quite friendly. Emily is an energetic CD and also a good entertainer. The guest relations team is efficient and pleasant. The Atlas Bar drinks are available but I’m sticking to wine this trip so can’t comment on them. We have not been to the MDR, but have enjoyed the Patio, Windows Cafe, Aqualina and Prime C. And Mosaic!! The ship’s public areas are lovely, very tasteful. Not showy or glitzy. The entertainment is okay. Derek on the Keys is excellent. We prefer the smaller venues over the theater, but hope to attend the local destination show tonight. 2

Ithikan Posted March 6, 2023 #83 Share Posted March 6, 2023 Asnaleah, your buffet fresh fruit photo is enticing indeed! It seems like the fresh fruit we have here in Oregon is mostly from South America these cold, winter days. Presumably you are provisioning more directly from the sources, and it all looks wonderful. Bon Appetit!

Rare asnaleah Posted March 9, 2023 Author #89 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I have lots of catching up to do! We were so busy in Rio I didn’t get a chance to write. We did private touring with another couple and had a wonderful experience. Great guide and driver. We did attend the Best of the Best evening and it was very, very nice. Here are photos from the event. I had the seafood main and DH had the beef. Both excellent. 1
Rare asnaleah Posted March 9, 2023 Author #90 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Our fabulous Butler, Osvi, arranged an elaborate cocktail party for us. Absolutely lovely!
Rare asnaleah Posted March 9, 2023 Author #91 Share Posted March 9, 2023 I finally overcame my apprehension about taking pictures at the dinner table, but these aren’t the best photos. I will practice for next time. These are from Prime C. Goat cheese tart. Korean bbq fried chicken New York strip loin steak Our favorite, miso sea bass Hasselback potato Key lime cheesecake It’s called chocolate fondant on the menu, but I would call it molten lava cake. Delicious! 4
Rare asnaleah Posted March 9, 2023 Author #92 Share Posted March 9, 2023 What else? Disembarkation was smooth and there was a lot of help with luggage. We had a private tour with another couple. We had a large van with plenty of room for our luggage. Excellent driver and the same guide from the first day in Rio. We were dropped off at the airport a little before 6:00 pm. Sadly for us, American Airlines reps didn’t start work until 7. Sigh. Finally got to the Admiral’s Club where we took much needed showers and had a snack while we waited to board. Flight was at 11:00 pm, so a very, very long day! Home on time, now to unpack and tackle the laundry!
peanut head Posted March 9, 2023 #93 Share Posted March 9, 2023 Thank you, again, for taking the time to post your trip. If possible, could you summarize how you felt about the ship/cruise line? The good and what you wish could have been different? Would you cruise again on Azamara?
Rare asnaleah Posted March 9, 2023 Author #94 Share Posted March 9, 2023 We would definitely sail on Azamara again as long as a suite is in our budget. The service is stellar, and for a smaller ship, the entertainment was enough for us. Others may prefer the big production shows. I liked being able to dine in the specialty restaurants which are included with suites. The atmosphere on Azamara is welcoming, warm and friendly. The officers are very visible. We liked staying in port overnight or sailing after 8 pm. Having self laundry is a plus, however, more than one laundry room is needed. For us, the beverage packages miss the mark. I do think the wine bottle package worked for us due to our fantastic sommelier. He got to know our likes and dislikes very quickly and “found” bottles for us not on the wine list. 4

Thanks for your review. I would agree with you on your observations and conclusions….I may just use your suggestion of buying bottles of wine, instead of the ultimate package because it missed the mark for me on the wines, too. so who was the fantastic sommelier? I sail on Pursuit in June. Thanks.
Rare asnaleah Posted March 10, 2023 Author #96 Share Posted March 10, 2023 @takemewithyou, our sommelier was Sachin.
