Oca Posted March 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2023 I have been meaning to ask the same question as our Cunard Bears are eager to greet a new family member!

BeachTunes Posted June 1, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2023 We will be first time Cunard cruisers in October. I'm not usually one to collect stuffed animals but considering our dog's nickname is Bear, this concept is very alluring! Would someone mind sharing some photos of previous Bears and the stories behind them? (Selfishly looking for ways to bide our countdown time. We have too many months to go! LOL!) TheOldBear Posted June 1, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2023 Last year's bear was Commodore Arthur Bear - named for the Captain Arthur Rostron, master of RMS Carpathia. Here is the Bear, along with a husky puppy from the Tromso Wilderness Center

I foresee a Cunard Bear donning the bed in our guest bedroom post-cruise! 🙂
sfred Posted June 1, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2023 @bluemarble and others have been keeping a running photo gallery of each year's breed of Cunard bears. It is in this thread: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2804682-cunard-teddy-bears Our next voyage is in August - I hope the 2023 ursus cunardis will be out by then.
Rare babs135 Posted June 1, 2023 Author #9 Share Posted June 1, 2023 I seem to recall that there was a bear named after Cunard's female captain Inger Thorhauge. I am assuming that Cunard has chosen to 'retire' the bears after a while in order to keep them exclusive, otherwise they are missing a trick by not making them available all the time. We will be on the QM2 in July and the Victoria in December so hopefully if there is a new bear available we will be able to purchase one.
Rare Germancruiser Posted June 2, 2023 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2023 I only have Arthur - and that for the Name only - Captain Sir Rostron did deserve a bear to bear his name.

I've been keeping a tally there of images of each of the Cunard annual bears that have been released since 2011. I'll rotate your photo before posting it there for easier viewing.

I think cuddly ships are pretty silly. I’m sure the young would love the bears, though.
techteach Posted June 11, 2023 #21 Share Posted June 11, 2023 @Host Hattie I don’t suppose you could hide one of each bear in 9060? I’ll get them in 19 days!
