1965 Posted March 28, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2023 I booked m525 on the Regal without realizing it's under the buffet. Now I'm thinking there will be noise above us. Does anyone have experience in a similar cabin? Thanks.
geocruiser Posted March 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2023 I have never been in one of those cabins. But there is a lot going on right above you. For me, I would not want to have to think about having a noisy cabin before I even get on the ship. We have on Emerald deck all the time. We have been in E-319, E-433, E-429, E-437, E-425. more than once. We really like these cabins. They have a larger balcony and are quiet.
billco Posted March 28, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2023 We were recently in M618 on the Discovery Princess. Didn't hear a thing.
SargassoPirate Posted March 28, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2023 To be safe, I always book a cabin with cabins above, below, and across the corridor. 2
555 Posted March 28, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2023 If there were another choice, I would take it. 1
tcdcruiser Posted March 28, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2023 IMHO Best practice..... cabins above and below no connecting cabin door (that was a hard lesson learned) more vs less distance from elevator lobbies and laundromats

I put us under the buffet kitchen on one cruise many years ago, and that was a miserable place to be. The noise started very, very early each morning, as they started prepping for breakfast. And it pretty much didn't stop. 1
Rare stevenr597 Posted March 28, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 28, 2023 Definitely would avoid the cabins below the buffet, unless noise does not bother you. I would try to find a deck with cabins above and below you. 1
DUCHESSRN Posted March 28, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2023 Made that mistake early in cruising on Carnival not Princess , we were in a Cove Balcony turns out under Pasty station at 2 am like sleeping under a bowling alley ....they did give us $100 OBC... I would not take the chance .
RNRcruisers Posted March 28, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 28, 2023 We were under the buffet on our last cruise, didn't realize until we were on board (it was a guaranteed room, we didn't pick it). It wasn't horrible but you could hear chairs being moved around at various times. 1
Rare cruisegal40 Posted March 28, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 28, 2023 Did a guaranteed under a pool one time. First and last mistake on that one. Lounge chairs. 2
claudia814 Posted March 30, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 30, 2023 Years ago on Golden Princess I was under the buffet, and the noise was from the chairs being moved around. I’ll never do that again!

We never heard a sound.
luvtoteach Posted April 2, 2023 #14 Share Posted April 2, 2023 On our first cruise we had a mini suite under the buffet. Never again. Cleaning went on all night. We were on the Pacific Princess.

That's the way it looks to me, too. I would avoid that stateroom. I had M501 on Regal for 28 days a few years ago. I think it could be the drink station in the buffet that was right above us. No noise at all.
