Do they still do pub lunches in the Crown Grill?

I was recently on a cruise on the Royal Princess and did not see anything in the Patter about there being any pub lunches in the Crown Grill.

My wife and I enjoyed them very much in the past, since it was a  nice departure from the buffet or dining room for lunch, and the food was so good.

Are there still pub lunches in the Crown Grill?  If so, on what ships?

From the amount of cruises and ships I've been on within the Princess fleet pre and post pandemic they seem to have done away with the pub lunch. However on the sky princess they have it on the lunch menu on one of the c days where they do off for lunch in the main dining room. So I thought that was a nice gesture. I did not see the same thing on the Enchanted the discovery or the majestic or Regal as of late

I miss this too. We saw pub lunch listed in the buffet one day, but we didn't go there for that. I doubt it would be the same.

We had the Pub Lunch at the Wheelhouse Lounge on the Island Princess, October 2022.

Others have posted that the food is being served in the buffet on a given day.... I don't know about you.... but "that just ain't right!"

We had it on a sea day last month on the Crown in the MDR.  Only found out about it when someone mentioned it; did not see it advertised.

On the emerald you were able to see the options on the tv that morning

I’m pretty sure I saw pub lunch pictures from one of the current ‘Live from the Sapphire” threads. I do not recall where the poster was seated, but I don’t think it was the Crown Grill.

You have to check the menu for lunch on the App or your TV.  It was not advertised in the patter.

in the mdr - was it just the 'pub lunch' - or pub lunch items in addition to regular mdr selections?

On the Ruby (repositioning through the Panama Canal in April for 16 days), it was in the MDR twice.  It was the pub lunch of old, with the dedicated menu.  They decorated with flags and had a display of pub beers available.

It was noted in the Patter.

Pub beers?  Oh, wouldn’t it be wonderful to find a keg of real ale somewhere on a Princess ship!

No, it was not designated just a  “Pub lunch” … it was the featured lunch on the menu, as well as other meals.  I didn’t think it was as good as the past.  But, it was good to just have a little variety.

I have seen it at the Wheelhouse Lounge before COVID.

It happened on the Crown on our recent Hawaii cruise in April, as well as on the 6 night coastal cruise to Vancouver this week on the Crown.

Same for your 15-dayer to Hawaii on the Crown. Once to Hawaii, once from Hawaii.  Good meal, but be prepared to wait in a long MDR line at lunch.

We have never been to it as it isn’t for us, but there were lineups outside the Crown Grill so I wondered what was going on. There was no line up for lunch in the MDR, as long as you didn’t want to eat right at 12. I just can’t understand why people start lining up at 11:30. It just makes for unnecessary waiting and then a reason to complain about waits.

That would surprise me if they switched it over from the MDR to the Crown Grill on the Crown Princess for Pub Lunch. On my cruise, the line was long from basically 12:00 to 1:00 PM for the MDR (where the Pub Lunch was actually be served).

Based upon the number of times the Pub Lunch comes up on CC, it's a popular event, but if you've never been, you're honestly not missing much.

For sure it was held in the Crown Grill.
They used the Michelangelo dining room for the wine tasting events during the day, as they only opened for dinner.

Interesting.... I say this b/c of the insanity of Pub Lunch out of Da Vinci was crazy. The Crown Grill would not be able to handle the volume of diners seeking the Pub Lunch.

The first time Pub Lunch was held on the Crown, when they opened the doors at 12:00, if you lined up at 12:00, you were past the bar in the casino to the bathrooms.... and you know how the lines are like a giant gaggle of people and not single-file. Plus, the people in the back were on the smoking side of the casino.

The Michelangelo was never open for lunch during my cruise.

Yes, it was a very long line up. The Crown Grill is not on the same deck as the casino…but the line up went well past Explorers lounge.
