Electrical Rice Cooker

I’m flying to Japan in October along with my Japanese significant other. Having grown up in Japan, he’s going to buy a rice cooker and pay the charge for excess luggage on the airline to bring back.

He claims GOOD rice cookers are much cheaper in Japan than you can order on Amazon.

He knows his stuff when it comes to rice and rice cookers. And, as you can surmise, he’s not related in any way to Uncle Ben.

Based on the title I thought the OP was wanting to cook their own rice based on a recent thread slamming the food.

Yes I hear Celebrity rice sucks too!  😁

My wife and I have eaten the rice Celebrity servers many times and, even including the rice on Sushi on Five and Raw on Five, and it's not as good as the rice she makes in our Zojirushi rice cooker.

BTW, some really nice rice cookers can set you back over $1000.

$1000 is a bargain ! My rice cooker costs a hell of a lot more --- but, came with a pretty face.

A more important thread--- I was wondering---- saw it posted many times on CC---

Do YOU think we " might " hear any noise if our room was under the pool deck, the OVC, or the theater on the XYZ ship ???

Since the XYZ ship hasn't been put in to service yet,  your question can't be answered.

On Asian cruises we used to see a lot of Electric rice cookers on the return to guests table when leaving the ship.

On a personal note I have been Married to an Expert rice cooker for 37 years and One of the first things I learned 37 years ago was How she and her Mother liked their Rice and I became good enough to earn her Mothers seal of approval!

It's just too "basic" to answer the OPs question with a simple "Yes." 😎

OK.  What rice cooker should I get?

Should I also get a lobster broiler?

Yeah I think my dw uses that one too.  But we don't really eat rice very often.
