They are perfect for us with a wonderful choice of music with the rock band, the two pianos, and the blues/soul band (do keep the classical quartet), a forward facing lounge and The Dutch Cafe. I agree with you.

I haven’t read a lot of this thread but did anyone say they like crowed ships? I haven’t missed any of the old ships and I won’t miss the volendam and zaandam either. Right! For me, no comparison. The Pinnacle class ships just have so many more options. The Dutch Cafe, a complete NY Pizza and Deli, separate (nice) dining room for Club Orange... Although I also like slightly smaller numbers of passengers, I would never trade that for the additional benefits of the newer ships.
Susanmaz Posted July 16, 2023 #104 Share Posted July 16, 2023 I found that additional options took up extra space and led to more crowding with the extra passengers. There never seemed to be room for all of those extra people - every place was crowded and it seemed that all of the passageways were narrower and always packed. I hated it. When researching future cruises, I eliminate the Pinnacle size ships from our options, regardless of itinerary.
Rare LMaxwell Posted July 16, 2023 #105 Share Posted July 16, 2023 Nice wide Promenade deck with lounge chairs; a "waterfront" type concept as employed on Virgin, Carnival, MSC, Norwegian along the promenade deck with an adults only pool near the aft, perhaps

We hardly spent any time there now. We absolutely agree.

My impression was that some hallways to cabinis on K'dam were narrower than on other ships. I saw a man on a scooter having a hard time making one of the turns. It wasn't an excessively large scooter, but it barely got around the corner without hitting a wall.

Complete Waste of space 😉 One of the best designed vessels of the Carnival group are the AidaPrima and AidaPerla. Both measure 127.000gwt and were designed and constructed by Mitsubishi in Nagasaki. They are absolutely gorgeous, stunning with a nice Lanai deck, very manoeuvrable and they ride the waves well. It would be a perfect size for HAL, and although needing quite some design adaptations, the basic hull design would suit HAL very very well.
