The vapor is harmless and contains “not detected” levels of nicotine?

Distribution and mass balance of exhaled e-cigarette aerosol composition was greater than 99.9% water and glycerin, and a small amount (<0.06%) of nicotine.

Both e-cigarette products utilize glycerin as the aerosolizing agent and are labeled as containing nicotine (20–24 mg/e-cigarette). Compositions of the e-liquids were 82% glycerin, 9% water, 2% nicotine and 7% flavor for blu CTD; 75% glycerin, 18% water, 2% nicotine and 5% flavor for blu MMD

I am not, nor did I say, the exhaled vapor was harmless. What I said was:

Vapes are a much more efficient nicotine delivery system than cigarettes, very little if any nicotine is present in human exhaled e-cig vapour.

The data I listed above shows the reduction from 2% to <0.06%.

Marijuana vape has no marijuana smell. Most are unscented.

Send them to me and maybe I’ll prove you wrong.

Maybe list for me the chemicals exhaled by a marijuana vaper.

Humor me.

So in your opinion 0.06% nicotine can cause no harm, yes?  I was reading about propylene glycol which is found in some food.  Some sources, not all, say it can be harmful.  But you would say all these chemicals are harmless to bystanders?

While a revolt is always a possible solution, I doubt many would do so with the cancellation penalties.

Since the majority of cruisers probably booked months, or even years ago, before X made this horrible announcement, legally I would expect them to be able to cancel without penalty.

Sadly, it may be something that we have to look into, since we will not sail under these circumstances.

The data showed <0.06%. In laboratory data reporting, the "less than" sign indicates the values were below the detection limits of the methods used, so can be anywhere from 0 to 0.06%.

As stated before, I will not comment or offer an opinion regarding harm or safety. I am not qualified for that. You are welcome to google for yourself the harm nicotine may cause at whatever levels you want. If you need numbers for comparison, the data from above is based on 1 ml of a 2% nicotine solution (so 20-22 mg nicotine in the device), rated at 400 puffs (0.05 mg/ per puff).

I am not sure why you keep asking me to say something is harmless. Not my job. Not my area of expertise. Apparently I made the mistake of pointy out how someones link was very misleading.....

“Not your job”?

I have to stop breaking into people’s homes and making them post on the internet.

Yep. Not my job. literally. I  just do the analysis and let someone else worry about whether the results indicate  remediation or regulatory action is required.

Why are you breaking into peoples homes?

I was apologizing for breaking into your home and making you post about this topic when it “wasn’t your job”.

Are you booked on one of these two ships? In the next 7-8 weeks? If so, I can certainly see your point.

Man, now I have to talk to the  security guard and send my guard cat back to remedial training.😄. My wife told me to get a dog. I told her the cat was just as good. She is never going to let me live this down.

Last I checked we were talking about vaping.  Do you want to change the subject?

You mentioned smelling marijuana in the rooms..THC comes in many forms.  That said, I’m not dumb enough to try and sneak some on any cruise.

I’ll bet someone at X is really thinking about opening this can of worms.  Totally smoke free on X inside is one of the big draws to me.

Cats are worthless.  I have an 18 year old deaf cat.  All he does is scream until we turn on the faucet he wants or we open the bedroom door so he can sleep I mean throw up on the new sheets.

I’m pretty much an expert on marijuana.  I took a puff in college 40 years ago.  I didn’t inhale.

We are sailing on a X ship that coincidentally we just made final payment for yesterday.

At this point, if X does continue with their Vaping tests and decide on making it policy, who knows whether it might be taken fleet wide, or just confined to two ships?

I am with you... I generally book 18-24 + months out.... and I was confident tht the Celebrity product fit my needs especially the NON SMOKING non toxic enviroment need which is at the top of my list... now I may have to go out looking for a new vacation destination...

I am praying that this experiment fails and Celebrity maintains its CLEAN AIR enviroment = no SMOKING OR VAPING inside...

I am booked on the Ascent in Jan of 24, I won’t let it ruin my cruise.  I’ve sailed various lines that allow cigarette smoking etc. in the casino.  I’d prefer X not allow it for sure.

We have sailed exclusively with X since 2010.

In the beginning, X did allow cigarette smoking, but eventually changed their policy and we were very happy with their decision.

Now they want to “go with the times” apparently. We didn’t care for second hand smoke, why we would want to breathe second hand Vaping?

YMMV.

Wow, that's much different than the response I received earlier today:

Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to contact the Executive Offices at Celebrity Cruises.

This test is currently taking place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th. It is a test at this point, and all feedback is being taking into consideration, so again, thank you.

As a brand we will continue to keep our guests as the main focus, and you taking the time to reach out is truly beneficial and appreciated. Again, thank you so much for the feedback provided regarding our recent change.

Yeah - I wrote back and said that based on feedback on social media boards, I politely disagreed with their assumption that guests who do not vape feel that allowing vaping will not impact negatively their experience.
