Do PCC get paid per cruises booked?

I got a call from a new PCC after I logged in and started looking at cruises. Gave him a call back and asked some questions about a certain cruise I was interested in. The people in my party took a while to reply and then wanted to book right away so we did online. Looking at my cruise, I have some questions because we did the airfare included but wondering if my PCC will be annoyed to help me bc he won't get money since I didn't book through him? Or do PCC get paid because their "customers" booked a cruise online and it's "their assigned customer"? I know for Disney, if you book through their website and then get a Disney travel agent, they still get paid bc they just link themselves to your reservation, not sure if it's the same idea.

Am following as am curious.

I'm pretty sure with HAL it is not automatic based on a conversation we had with our PCC after booking on-line once.

I can't tell you if they get paid or not, but I assume they do.
What I can tell you is they normally won't help with cruises not booked through them, they only take responsibility for their own bookings. This is another reason I suspect they get paid commission on each booking.

YMMV but this has been my experience, also that of others I know booking with multiple PCCs.

also noticed something similar. I get the PCC sales call every now and then when i checked future cruises and i also received an email from the PCC that has their contact information. When i contacted them about a question with a cruise i booked on the website, they never responded to emails or phone calls..they seem more like sales people that does booking and will not handle any reservation questions/issues

I'm also quite certain they get paid for cruises they book and not ones you book yourself online.  I have called her to make adjustments to an existing cruise that she booked me on and she happily made the changes for me, so it wasn't just for a new cruise booking.  But it was servicing one she sold.

I would not call her for issues related to a cruise I did not book with her.  I would call the 800 number.

Once I was logged into my account and I was doing some early research on a possible future cruise, she was notified and she immediately called me (she got my voicemail) and sent me an email with a BIG BOLD "Don't book without calling me first!" at the top of it.  That was a little more aggressive than I liked, but she's in sales.

I did tell her, in a very forward manner, that I was just researching and that I would call her if and when I was ready to book and that she should not contact me.

We book solely through our PCC. And they never try to sell us a cruise or cold call us, but they do definitely help us out with things, including re-booking when necessary, searching for available OBC, and taking care of Special Needs forms for us.

I would never book online simply because a limited amount of cabins are shown as available. The PCC can see all the available cabins and your choices are better.

*If* you have a PCC that you like working with and you want to get the credit...you can put the cruise on a courtesy hold.  For my non CAS bookings, I put it on hold then send my PCC an email with a couple of preferred contact times and then he calls me to go over the particulars and VOILA! I'm booked and he gets the credit.

norwegian cruise consultants do not earn commission on bookings.

their KPIs are looked at, however, on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual basis… number of calls answered, talk time, hold time, insurance and drink packages booked, etc.

The PCC we use has told us she does earn commission on bookings. Are you talking about those that answer the phones? Or PCC's? Of course, who knows! Unless one works for NCL.

Just to add to this topic, my PCC said she gets credit if one books a cruise on the ship.

I asked similar but on the ship as I was concerned my PCC would not assist me with a booking made on the ship, I was assured it would be moved to him and he would help me with it.

I booked our upcoming cruise straight thru NCL (person that answered the phone).  Upgraded the same way.  Got a phone call several night ago from our newly appointed PPC, extremely nice your lady.  We talked for awhile about cruising AND she asked to to wait just a minute and came back and told me she had gotten us and extra 10% off the cruise.  And if I found a price drop to contact her and she would see we got that. She also told us we could book dinner venues and shore excursions with her when they become available. I do not know if the fact we a platinum status ( one more cruise away from sapphire ) made a difference. Hopefully she is getting credit but working FOR us none the less

That is partially correct.  The credit goes to the person who originally booked the cruise you are on. So if you have a different PCC, it will not go to them.  I was told there is no way to give the credit to your current PCC if it has changed.

I've changed PCCs a few times in the past couple of years - due to a promotion, a requested change because I had a really terrible one, and a resignation.  So I'm really careful about booking onboard.

I do the same.  Basically the person who processes the payment gets the credit, whether it is a commission or just "points"

My PCC has told me repeatedly to only book NCL through him, so he's got to be getting something for doing so.  All other NCL stuff goes through him too.  He's not the fastest to respond (unlike my HAL and Princess ones), but he usually does what I ask.

i've had a number of different folks at NCL handle my cruises over the years. i've asked all of them, including one today who has worked there 15 years. they all say they do not work on commission.

i book through CAS and i asked if it were a paid cruise whether it would make any difference. and they have all said no.

"getting credit" is very different than earning commission. they do get credit for booking a cruise... it's in those KPIs i spoke of in a previous post. high proficiency in hitting goals and maintaining KPIs can lead to a better performance review, which may, in turn, lead to a bigger raise or a promotion.

But, a CAS cruise is a fully paid cruise. Just that the casino is paying for the cruise.

Perhaps if you told us what "KPIs" were, it would make more sense to us.

Key Performance Indicators, business managers love to look at these various numbers to see how well the company is doing and its works is doing. if a pcc is not keep up with the numbers, management might do bad things to them

KPI refers to “key performance indicators,” standard business metrics by which an employee is judged. kindly see post #10 for examples for contact center employees.
