Rare ledges1 Posted September 12, 2023 #26 Share Posted September 12, 2023 One-time free cabin upgrade OR third, fourth and fifth guests sail free ✔ I was confused. It is the 3rd guest free when becoming Diamond. I hope I got it right this time.
firefly333 Posted September 12, 2023 #27 Share Posted September 12, 2023 17 minutes ago, ledges1 said: maybe this is what I was thinking about. Is this still available? Carnival Cruise Line Carnival does not offer a free cruise to its members of the VIFP Club. Diamond is the top tier of the loyalty program and requires at least 200 points. While there is no free cruise here, you can at least get a one-time free cabin upgrade or a 3rd guest sailing free once the Diamond level is reached. Some other perks for this top tier include a complimentary meal for two at a specialty restaurant and unlimited wash and fold laundry service. Ah thanks. Yes for me would be a one time upgrade. I've never cruised with 3 in the same cabin. Next time I'll try to get this upgrade. Good time to try mardi gras or jubilee. My next is a sold out journey cruise
Rare kctwinmommy Posted September 13, 2023 #28 Share Posted September 13, 2023 We've actually gotten burnt out on Carnival after our last one and we were looking for something bigger. So our next one is a major cruise, for us, and not on Carnival. We wanted a change. We also have another one booked in about 18 months that is also not on Carnival. I realize we don't cruise every year like so many other so, but we've had a few for sure.

Which one if you don't mind me asking? Thanks. P.S. For a few weeks during the height of the pandemic I didn't have any cruises booked on any cruise line. And I kept booking and canceling Carnival cruises in '21 and '22 - three in total. My next cruise on Carnival in November will be my first in over 3 1/2 years. In between I will have had 9 cruises on 4 different cruise lines.
Rare nydney1 Posted September 13, 2023 #30 Share Posted September 13, 2023 I can’t believe that you are looking at other cruise lines? Is the other cruise line going to give you a Fanny pack for booking. There is even a secret message inside it just for you. 1

This coming January we will try Holland America on a themed cruise. HAL is my least favorite in that category of cruise lines. If you like CCL, I can almost guarantee you will not like HAL. All the stories of old ppl are true. Although, the themed cruise may be different. Crossing my fingers for you

Rare Illbcruzn4life Posted September 13, 2023 #33 Share Posted September 13, 2023 We’ve been on about 5 in the last year.CCL,MSC,RCL,and DCL. We will be on Royal again next month, then MSC for 2 weeks, then back to Carnival. wherever I find a good deal to places we want to go I don’t play favorites except to my wallet.🙂👍🏻 9
skywalkr2 Posted September 13, 2023 #34 Share Posted September 13, 2023 Do any of these other lines match your VIP level with Carnival? Priority embarkation, free laundry, etc will keep me on Carnival for some time... unless someone wants to match it?

MSC and virgin I've read do status matching, royal and celebrity do status matching from one to the other but not to carnival. I do get free laundry on rcl lol. Priory embarkation has dissolved on rcl, they sit us together and call by loyalty, after VIP, D+ is next. Pinnacle pretty much gets suite perks and boards VIP. Celebrity i get their perks when I status matched, not pts, the equal status. I cant wait for free wifi my whole cruise. I'd willingly give up free laundry for this. I get 2 free days now. Pinnacle over 200 pts away for free wifi, priority boarding etc. I also get 3 amenity picks, like 3 bottles of wine. As a solo to me laundry isnt a big deal. Try virgin or msc. I think virgin said the status matching ends this year.

My boss, the wife, wanted to try a different line for 2024. So, we have 2 cruises next year on RCL, the Ovation and the Navigator. It feels surreal that I'm not going on Carnival next year... Nonsense. We have sailed 34 times in 20 years on Celebrity, Princess, Carnival, RCCL, NCL, MSC & DCL. Life is about variety. Enjoy! Rare ledges1 Posted September 14, 2023 #40 Share Posted September 14, 2023 I would like to try other lines, however, my wife is a coin pusher fanatic. Not all cruise lines have the machine. It appears RCL and NCL have the coin pusher. She would not be happy if the cruise ship did not have the coin pusher. She will play for hours to get the black “S”. It appears as you go up to the higher lines, they do not have the coin pushers. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

Dinner, cheaper drinks etc. I have to admit something and throw up a white flag from a now-deleted thread. You will know what I am referring to and hopefully the mods won't delete this but after research you were right and I was wrong about changing rooms with a guarantee cabin as long as it is within the same category. But you were wrong about my status and time with Carnival. I've been with them since the '90s. And thank you for forcing me to research something that I always thought differently about for several years. I always thought guarantee cabins meant you were stuck with what you were assigned. Sorry for the thread drift...
evandbob Posted September 14, 2023 #44 Share Posted September 14, 2023 (edited) Once the OP experiences a new cruise line that has some things better than his accustomed line, that feeling of being a traitor will disappear. Carnival is not the be all and end all of sailing. After 40+ Carnival cruises, we started moving around, and now find we enjoy Celebrity the best. It would take a very special offer (free balcony + casino comps) to make us book Carnival again. Edited September 14, 2023 by evandbob

Rare Saint Greg Posted September 14, 2023 #46 Share Posted September 14, 2023 Nothing wrong with it. You don't owe Carnival anything. I just did NCL. I'm doing Princess in two months. I do have four Carnival cruises next year. 3 of the 4 were booked back during the big spring sale of 2022. After those I'm a free agent.
StephPS79 Posted September 14, 2023 #47 Share Posted September 14, 2023 I have a short cruising history, and while I love Carnival, and probably have more fun on Carnival, I don't feel loyal to any line. I'm loyal to price! 🤣
CKM Posted September 14, 2023 #48 Share Posted September 14, 2023 We also tried another cruise line (RC) but the whole time we compared it to Carnival! So many things were different, not for the better, and we also missed our perks for being platinum and diamond. Unless I get a fantastic offer from another cruise line (free) I’m sticking to Carnival!
