Greetings to the People’s Republic of Cruise Critic,

Long time lurker, first time live-er (and poster for that matter) here coming to you from the Carnival Mardi Gras April 6th to the 13th! On Saturday, we’ll be leaving our home in sunny Orlando, Fl and traveling all the way to sunny Orlando, Fl to board the Mardi Gras for a fun filled week to remember, or not; after all, we booked this cruise with the cheers package included, so memories are not guaranteed I suppose.

Looking forward to sharing this amazing trip with you all!

You will love MG, by far our favorite ship overall.  She is a big one but so much fun and on our last MG trip this past December we realized that we def have a favorite deck it seems, Deck 8, spent many hours doing many things on Deck 8 (plus we were staying in a Havana cabana that trip on deck 8 and everything was so close).  So many food venues that we never ate in MDR this last trip (didnt plan for that but just worked out).  Make sure you stop by Emeril's as the  food is worth the small upcharge and you can just walk up and order (try it for lunch one day), the shrimp and grits is outstanding!

We have 2 trips this year on Sunshine in Charleston to see her off (our other fav ship for an oldie but goodie one) but our next one after that is May 2025 on MG again and cant wait.   You will have so much fun and I will be following along too!

I've read so many of both of your cruise reviews! They're so much fun to read that I wanted to try writing my own. It's an honor to have you both aboard!!!

Yay, another live - can't wait to follow along! You'll have to venture a little farther than Orlando to board Mardi Gras though, there are no oceans over there. 😂 We can't get enough of Mardi Gras, she's our absolute favorite.

Lol, fair enough. I guess I should have said we'll be making the long trek from sunny Orlando, Fl all the way to sunny Port Canaveral. Thanks for following along! So glad you're here!

Thanks for following along! We were on the Mardi Gras just about a year ago and loved it so much we had to go back! I loved Emeril's, but I didn't try the shrimp and grits. I'll have to try that one this time around!

Love Mardi Gras!  Fortune Teller is da 💣😍!

I was on the Mardi Gras last year and somehow never tried the drinks from there! There were just so many bars. I have cheers this time though, so there will probably be a lot more trying different drinks! Any recommendations from the Fortune Teller?

Glad to have you along!

Just finished my last day of work before the cruise! I love cruises, but the last work day before them, not so much. Making sub plans for the whole week is no joke.

Now, I have to start packing. Tomorrow... Mardi Gras!!!

My all time favorite is New Moon with salted rim.  Bog Juice is good for a change of pace, it’s a bit sweeter and has the tapioca pearls.

so jealous…enjoy!

Looking forward to joining you on your first live from my favorite ship!  Agree with others above about the better food experience on Mardi Gras - didn't see anyone mention Big Chicken, it's another great new addition to Carnival.  Don't sleep on shawarma!  And if you're a non-smoking gambler you will love the casino with the floor to ceiling window views of the ocean.  I've been on Mardi Gras three times and still haven't ridden Bolt even though I planned to each time - that's how much there is to do (and eat!)

Sorry, I just had to tease a little. 🙂We're lifelong Floridians born and raised in Orlando and moved to Cape Canaveral a few years ago. We absolutely love it here and more often than not, I'm lying in bed early mornings watching through our glass door waiting to see the cruise ships come into port. It never gets old!

My favorite drink at Fortune Teller is Abracadabra. Lime in the Coconut is pretty good too. Brass Magnolia is our favorite inside bar but our drinks there weren't on the menu. We were lucky enough to cruise with the fabulous Melissa behind the bar on 3 different cruises and she just whipped us up drinks we ended up loving. She knew I liked champagne with peach schnapps from a previous cruise when she was working at Center Stage Bar so for something a little different she made me a drink with champagne, Chambord and St. Germaine. Pretty sure it's the same as Christine's Fav at Golden Jubilee on Celebration. She made my husband some kind of chocolate martini that was amazing.

Have fun, I can't wait to follow along!!
